The Eight Great Powers of 2017

whoever made this list is a retard and bullshitting himself into thinking he understands real power.

The real list is

1. USA - I still give them the edge because of how much power they gain since WWII despite our gaining power, it is still not there yet.

2. China - With all due to respect to Russia, I felt we have gain very close to Russia in military but the economic gap will keep getting wider.

3. Russia - Still the most formidable force to be reckon with for any power, including USA and China. Nobody wants to dance with the bear 1-on-1 on an empty field and that say how much powerful Russia is. Yes, their economic strength is not as powerful but it has enough self sufficient industrialized strength to make any power fight without clear victory in the short term.

4. UK - Never underestimate this small island. The real power of the UK is the influence it can have over the commonwealth countries as evidenced when they fought the Falkland War. When country fight the UK, you are most likely facing a number of commonwealth countries so for that, UK is still #4.

5. Germany - Germany has much of Europe backing and if they flip the switch, they can quickly rise to be a Fourth Reich but that largely depend how much Germany wants power.

6. Japan - They are largely rely on the US but has enough technological know-how to make a quick turn into a world power. Though they are not at the level of China when it comes to hard power, and perhaps not soft power either evidenced by the fact no one in the world care about Japan core interest when Abe camping around the globe for an anti-china stance. Most countries paid lipservice in the process of gaining economic favor but none stands out. Though they are still strong industrialized country, like a mini version of China. That mini is enough to be at #6.

7. France - Very similar to the UK in that they have the support of the Mediterranean countries. They are an independent force to be reckon with. With nuke and years of projection power experience, doubt any countries left can beat them.

8. India - Yeah, the typical billion army here can't be underestimate. They are rising but still very weak. Still, they have lot of potential.

These are the real 8.

In a decade or so India is destined to be the 3rd greatest power after US and China both in term of military might and economy as the potential for growth is immense in India. We just need to keep growing at 7-8% and undertake the required reforms.

@Rasengan why are u even dragging Pakistan into this irrelevant matter? we are not protector of Iran . we have nothing to do with Israel . Do u know that Iran has defense pact with india which allows indian to use Iranian military base ? so please don't talk about brotherhood . we already have enough enemies . For my sake , both can go to hell . Be mature . don't shout nuclear nuclear . Nuclear weapons are for defense of Pakistan . I think we should look for our own interest and should have diplomatic relations with all countries .thanks

Who made you the policeman of this forum? How is this discussion an irrelevant matter. If Israel the warmongering nation decided to fire a nuclear bomb on Iran, do you know how many Pakistani's will die of radiation. I guess you didn't take that into consideration. Unlike you, I am not a bloody coconut who is cowered by their power. We aren't protectors of Iran, however, our interests will be intertwined in the future as a result of CPEC. I dare you to say to the military or make a video in youtube by saying Pakistan should have a diplomatic relationship with Israel. I can guarantee you that the response won't be good.

we have diplomatic relations with India who has been killing kashmiris for decades then why not Israel ? . EGYPT , Jordan , Turkey , Azerbeijan and many other muslim countries have diplomatic relations with Israel . UAE and may be Saudi Arabia are next in line to establish diplomatic relations with Israel . Then why are we an exception ? As far as , Military is concerned , Military also wants to establish diplomatic relations with Israel . Even Gen Pervaiz Musharraf tried to establish diplomatic but could not do due to radical mullahs like u . open your eyes kid . There is no brotherhood . every one looks for its own interests .
