The Chinese 'Invasion' Of Siberia Is A Myth

KMT signed the recognition treaty with the Soviet in1946 but unilaterally abolished it in 1953.

So what? The damage was already done, it is too late to take the regret pill.

Just because they lost to CPC, so they were trying to make themselves to look patriotic on the map.

But in the reality, CPC has saved far more Chinese land than KMT has ever done.

The soviet Union the only big power who was OK with a united China with Tibet and Xinjiang, other powers wanted to cut China into several parts. KMT are acting like they are patriotic now, but they would have sold the country in less than 10years. You can say what you want about Mao, but he had a vision of a great, independent, powerful and united China. That is the best thing he gave to Chinese, control of Xinjiang means direct access to central Asia, Tibet means water, south asia...with Xinjiang and Tibet China is the central nation of Asia, having borders with central asia , south Asia, north east Asia of course, and south east Asia, south China sea makes China a central entity in south east Asia. Outer Mongolia means border with Russia...China already have that. No need. But imagine if Xinjiang or Tibet sided with enemy countries... it would cut China from all south and central Asia and would allow a much easier invasion of China because of no buffer zone.

KMT has no choice, Outer Mongolia and Tibet were already de facto independent after Qing Dynasty dis-integrated. The Xinjiang is in China because of warlords like Yang Zengxin and Sheng Shicai, who did a lot in plalying out USSR. At that time, USSR try to create independent Xinjiang and nearly succeeded. Its time PRC restore the true image of these Chinese patriot.

When Mao emerge, China established firm grip on all her peripheries, including Tibet.

Looking at India's conduct she could have conquered Tibet if Mao's PLA did not restored Tibet in 1950.

KMT shouldn't sign the treaty just to stop CPC anyway.

If KMT didn't sign the treaty, then CPC would have a chance to reclaim Outer Mongolia just like it did to Xinjiang.
