Yes, the Colonel is right. The Pakistani Army is indeed unpredictable. Why? Simple. That is how it is groomed and trained. Unconventionality, being unorthodox, no set patterns, not conforming to standard practices, always thinking out of the box, all of these result in unpredictability. Sometimes, when fighting a numerically superior enemy, it is this unpredictability that keeps the opposition guessing, it may even save the day, on some days. That is how, the world over, armies fight when faced with an enemy which is clearly superior. That is also the reason why the Chinese Army is not unpredictable. They are clearly superior, they therefore don't need to take risks. Because unpredictability is associated with enormous risk taking. If the gamble succeeds, the army gets to live to fight another day, if it fails, it gets wiped out. Military warfare is a science, it has rules. Bend them too much, the system collapses.

Corrections my friend, your merely hastened the liberation as the matter was all but sealed with the infamous "Tum Wahan Hum Yahan" doctrinal treatment that was unleashed on Bangladeshi population. Had we treated them fairly.....things would have been different. In the least, no 1971 war would have happened. After all a united Pakistan would have been a handful for India.

indians need to study sun tzu more diligently. the elements of the predictable and unpredictable both have their use in the use of military force. we are supremely safe vis-a-vis indians and our little skirmish with them was upright and must be done as an open gesture to punish indian betrayal and treachery. pakistan suffers from constant indian aggression also, but being a smaller neighbor, it does the very opposite of the chinese military and deploys the element of unpredictability to search for its advantage and there is nothing in military doctrine that can be held against the pakistani way of defending itself against a much bigger bully and offender.

but like sun tzu said, the moment of victory will come when we combine both the predictable and the unpredictable. that is when china and pakistan will unify their forces and give the indian aggressors such a thrashing that they will never forget.
