Dude, @Viet was saying the truth. CCP guerrila army were mostly peasants, and were poorly equipped. VN had a better start in the war with US. The early period of VN-France war was similary to CCP-Japan war: abandoning the cities, retreat to mountains, playing hide and seeks.

There are so many official documents（Japan Defense Agency Version）that could show CCP played the most important role in the North China during 1938-1944.In fact，CCP contained at least 1/3 of [中国派遣军]Japanese china expeditionary forces(in a long term).Their efforts should be respected.

Dear, remember the old adage, "To the victor goes the spoils..." In regards to China's political mandate, the victor is the CPC. Its only natural for the current regime to identify the inefficiencies and failures of the past regime (KMT).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but @ChineseTiger1986 , didn't you say your grandparents were KMT ? Shouldn't you have at least some respect for their sacrifice during their contributions in the war? Irrespective of ideological difference. Afterall, it was the KMT that bore the brunt of Imperial Japan's military offensives and strikes.

I have no particular preference in either KMT or CPC, because that is not my call to prefer either since I am not Chinese. All I'm saying is that there should be some kind of respect, at least, by CPC supporters for KMT in their contribution in collectively fighting the war against Japan.

In regards to CPC, I am awed at their ability to lift over 700 million Chinese out of poverty, had the vision (thanks to Deng Xiaoping) to open to the capital market and allowed for the realization of China's industrial and manufacturing capabilities. In regards to that, and the CPC's fairly successful policies in harnessing the Chinese market, Chinese human capital -- I applaud that. As you know in my posts here, I may be opposed to Chinese military's intrusion into sensitive territories because I see it as destabilizing in the region. Besides that, however, I am fairly awed, amazed at the CPC's successful economic policies. Now there might be some issues I have qualms with, as in the case of Intellectual Property Rights violations, but I am optimistic that with enough foresight, CPC will eventually be considerate of its Western & Japanese partners.

An example of how a victor shows respect to its vanquished opponent would be the United States Federal Government, which was victorious against the Confederate States Government after the Peace Treaty at Appomattox in 1865, after a bloody 4 year civil war. To this day, Americans still honor the rights of those Confederates who fought and died for their cause. Its an honor system.

I'm sure some CPC supporters honor the KMT dead who died for what they believed in.

KMT itself also had many different factions during the WWII, not all those KMT martyrs would be considered loyal to Chiang Kai Shek.

While Chiang could very likely persecute them as he considered many of the other factions as the CPC sympathizers.
