Delhi is the best run Metro rail system in India. It used to be economically self sustainable until the recent past, not sure about the effects of covid now.

In terms of economic sustainability, Delhi Metro may also be one of the best in the world. But it is not necessarily the best in comfort, even by Indian standards. There are quite a few new Metro lines in other cities of India that have a more modern system.
