Too old the data, the subway length in the Chinese cities are being extended on monthly basis, Beijing's metro rail length is 1148KM so far.

My hometown, Changsha, Hunan Province, has an 800km subway.

Moreover, the urban areas of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan are connected, the other two cities also have hundreds of kilometers of subways connected with Changsha's subways.

The three urban agglomerations in eastern Hunan alone surpassed Japan. Japan is really a sunset country.
Google search says Changsha has a metro length of 190 km. Tokyo has 308 km.

Well China really just came up in the last 10-15 years. Even though this is modest, this is proof that india is modernizing and able to finally execute the completion of critical infrastructure. Undoubtedly this is a sign that there will be more to come.

I checked it, you're right.

The subway under construction in Changsha totals 800km. These subways under construction will not be fully put into use until 2035.

The subway that has been put into use is 190km.

I regard the subway data under construction as the subway data that has been put into use.

Sounds good, but if being put in the context, Shanghai city's metro rail, maglev excluded, is 831KM, beating India's whole country'a combined metro rail length hands down.

Beijing's city's metro rail length is 1148KM, currently ranks the first in China.

Currently 45 Chinese cities run city metro subways.
Thats not been counting Shenzhen and guangzhou metros.

Comparing with the Chinese subways, US subways are just city sewers.

Not even New York, one of the richest cities in the world, is willing to continue subsidizing the upkeep of the subway system.

How does India plan on subsidizing all these subways in perpetuity?

Seems like misplaced priorities to buy votes imo.

First, reduce electricity bills.

Second, use intelligent systems to streamline staff.

Third, develop real estate and commercial areas near the subway station.

Fourth, we will only build subways in China.

So the Erdogan model.

India looks less and less promising every time I look deeper.
Hong Kong Metro is profitable. Subways in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou are also about to recover their costs.

All those cities are both extremely populated as well as relatively wealthy.

If the Indian cities do not become as wealthy as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or Hong Kong, then it's a money pit.
