What's new

The Benazir Bhutto, I knew was no hero!

This post just oozes dumbness. She was "capable of standing up to the Taliban ideology", which she helped foster.

You really are full of yourself, aren't you?

"Missing the point on corruption" when someone nearly bankrupts the economy by slicing off 10% of all investment, driving away FDI, stealing the reserves, and mismanaging the economy, is definitely not the point :cheesy:. Let's overlook "minor points" to her politicial career and focus on the major points, such as attacking MQM (her political rivals for Sindh of course).

I think Pakistan in the hands of a corrupt democrat is better than pakistan in the hands of the taliban.

As for Musharraf not being popular. He is one of the most popular leaders in Punjab, and that has half the voters. Balochistan would vote in quite a high percentage for Musharraf also.

Opinion polls seem to suggest otherwise. Of course, opinion polls are often wrong...

That answered the point. Do you even know who supported the Taliban in Pakistan? Civilian governments, Musharraf severed the relationship with the Taliban. Therefore who "stood up to the Taliban" ultimately? Duh.

I think Pakistan in the hands of a corrupt democrat is better than pakistan in the hands of the taliban.

Read above. Also Pakistan will never be in the hands of the Taliban. Pakistan in the hands of an uncorrupt dictator is better than in the hands of a corrupt "democract", if you could call a Chairperson for Life as a democrat.

Actually, no they don't. Musharraf might be unpopular with the supporters of PPP and PML-N, but that does not mean he has lost the support of the Punjab block of voters. If the elections were held tomorrow, he will win one third to half of Punjab which will give him a majority in government (but not a clear majority).

Not according to Pakistan Times

"The project was conceived during the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s first regime in the early 90s. The first test flight of the supersonic jet was successfully conducted in September 2003 in China."

Not sure who dreamt up this. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Benazir Bhutto though.

Oh pulease. Bhutto's stint in power was not an electrical miracle. No need to overinflate things by lying outright.

How do all these "positives" (if she really did any of them), outweight or justify stealing 10% of everything and taking the country to default when it could not even get loans?

Bhutto was a traitor, though not as great a traitor as her father. The article was well written, her Urdu may have been below the belt.:yahoo:

first i'm anti muhajir, now i'm pro muhajir. make your minds up! I'm pretty neutral in this. I see Musharraf as Pakistan's best hope for a better future. Not these corrupt, feudal political parties.

I bet you thought zia was the best bet for pakistan when he was ruling.

"I see Musharraf as Pakistan's best hope for a better future"......:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Post me where I said that. As always, you've made up a lie, or twisted the truth to suit your agenda. But go on, post me one post in the whole of this forum, where i said anything complimentary about Zia : you can use the entire 1,300 posts to find something. If not, you have made up a lie about me. Very moralistic of you :disagree:, but very much your character

Its really simple..... you either support democracy or you support dictatorships.
From your post it seems obvious to me you a dictatorships supporter.

Your point about me making up a lie or twisting the truth is just your own paranoia seeping through.

If you read my post carefully i say "i bet you thought" not "you did think"..... bit of a difference!

Saying "I bet you thought" is an assumption based on nothing I said. That would be your own paranois "seeping through" therefore.

And things aren't so black and white as either supporting democracy or dictatorships. A good dictator is always better than a bad democrat (let's forget chairpeople for life). A bad dictator and an equally bad democrat are just two faces (dictator and democrat) of the same coin (corruption).

Its based on your current support for the military junta........
Did you support Z.Bhutto or Zia?

In the past 100 years has democracy/representative government or monarchs/dictatorships delivered justice and equality to the people?
I think you will find that the ratio is heavily tilted towards democracy/representative government.

A good dictator is always better than a bad democrat.

Yeah and a good democratic is always better then a bad dictator.....:pakistan:
