FOR PAF's INTEREST - TAI 5.0TH GEN KAAN'S INDIGENOUS POWER PLANT DEVELOPMENT REMAINS A KEY AREA
============================
May 2023
So TFX - MMU named as KAAN - The aircraft's name was given by Devlet Bahceli, the leader of Türkiye's Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), the president said.
Kaan is a historic title used by the rulers of Turkic and Mongolian states.
KAAN have several features such as high situational awareness, optimized pilot workload, combat damage detection, new generation mission systems, low observability, precision strike, and internal weapon bay.
Yet the Achilles Heel remains - The Engine.
The first 20 MMU KAANs will be delivered with General Electric F110-GE-129 engines from 2028. The engines, each with 29,000 pounds of power, provide a total of 58,000 pounds of power.
The 21-meter (about 69-feet) aircraft is able to reach a maximum speed of Mach 1.8 thanks to its twin engines, which can produce 29,000 pounds (13,000 kilograms) thrust each.

Starting from 2030, a domestically produced engine with a power of 35,000 pounds will be used. This will turn the KAAN into a fighter that generates a total of 70,000 pounds of thrust.
Just examining for the sake of comparison - The Saturn AL-41F engines owned by the Su-57 Felon produce 32,000 of power each, providing a total of 64,000 pounds of power to the aircraft.
