What's new

The analysis for the cause of rapes in subcontinent and it's solution

well it is nothing new, there some bad concepts in western culture--
1. sex life without marriage, this leads this type of accidents. It leads many young people to misunderstand love concept. I heard that once someone has experience of sex, it is hard for him to live without sex (thats why marriage is important before having sex)

Cannot comment about that from personal experience.

2.woman are free to expose themselves to attract man who they like, But they do not think other evil guys may attracted by evil purpose, even many of them think sex is everything for love. If woman expose themselves and do not want other guys (who may attracted) to not get attracted apart from the guys they like, then you are expecting others to turn into gay or sexless. My point is man and woman both have responsibility on this issue. if you only blame man or woman, that is not correct.

My point was not to bash males. I am myself a male.It is just that since most of the perpetrators are males, any analysis is bound to be biased against them.

Anyway i have derived reference from Social psychology textbook (baron ) and culture and psyche by sudhir kakkar.

The point here is not of attraction, but of responsibility. This is the reason that every male that is attracted to a female does not go forward to rape that female. The analysis is regarding those who commit rape.

The issue is our perception of what sexual intercourse really is. For most people, it is just a means to pleasure and that every woman should enjoy as much as men do. This leads to a distorted view that women will just land in your bed if you say things like: "aati kya khandaala ??" or tease them enough.

Mujras, item numbers and Emraan Hashmi makes matters worse.

We're both young countries and can't be expected to rectify this age old issue in a matter of years.

It will takes decades of social progress to reach better levels and even the so-called developed societies are still suffering from this menace.

i'd beg to differ sir.if u look at the map this problem is more prone in west which has almost an independent history.especially europe which colonized half of the world.so its not the matter of age but the matter of thinking.there must be a sense of apathy created in the society.and it cant be done by making new laws when such incident happens..the most shocking thing is so called the most developed nations which have the highest hdi the Scandinavian countries also have this problem.

Aray bhaii. That is what I was saying too. The problem is worse even in countries who have higher a social development than us.

that cannot be an excuse...this problem is where even one occurance should be unacceptable.

There's no denying of the fact that rapes do happen in Pakistan! 4 witnesses used to be required for conviction - I anticipate you do understand the difference between conviction and reporting of a rape incident , do you?. Moreover, the law you had referred to is no more in use.

whats the purpose of reporting when u dont get justice. for a think tank u must maintain that stature please do not twist the facts
are'nt u the one who said it was changed in to "women protection bill" which is just a modified previous act??

and more over it was a reply to a troll. please dont extend this topic and embarrass urself.

the major cause of rape is increasing trend of glamour and arousing scenes in films and dramas and easy access to internet and pornographic movies and sites

I agree. i am saying all males are not same, some are bad, their attraction on different purposes. My point is woman need to be responsible as man. IF we say man need to be only responsible then it is wrong, at the same time if we say only woman need be responsible, that is also wrong.

Women should not display their beauty publicaly,

West has higher rape statistics because there proportionately more number of rapes are reported. In west there is no social stigma attached with rape and neither is there a sense of loss of social honor and no one indulges in victim blaming apart from fundamentalist nuts. apart from that women there have a fairly good understanding of consent. These factors lead to a higher rape reportage than conservative patriarchal societies.

And regarding per capita rapes being high in Sweden, It is because of there method of reporting rape. If a woman there says that her boyfriend has raped her throughout the year, it would be treated as 365 count of rape rather than 1. this inflates rape tally of Sweden considerably.

I am not posting an unqualified defense of west but for intellectual honesty , everyone should accept that rape statistics are highly unreliable.

media ( movie, song etc) highly shows sex is great level of entertainment, even some times show that sex is the concept of love.

No crime is acceptable, but there are fundamental difficulties in addressing these issues even by those who have the resources. We need to work to eradicate this menace, but we have to be realistic as well. Unfortunately for all of us, this problem is not going away any time soon.
