My Feelings Exactly, but how will we achieve it. Lets start with basic engines and gearboxes for locally produced Suzuki cars of Pakistan, are they actually made in Pakistan or Imported from Japan. If we were to make our own engines and gearboxes for the most mass market consumer products in our own country; motorcycles, rickshaws and cars, we could have a leg to stand on to build machinery for larger applications. Engines that can be used in tanks, can be used in ships, power plants, trains, heavy trucks, etc.

There seems to be no organized plan for national development. The government seems to have outsources the national development plan to the CPEC project.

Tornado,Typhoon 2000 and lately F35 are all joint ventures.U S and West German Governments abonded a joint venture Army Tank project in 1974.The main difference being the weight and Diesel Engine vs Jet Engine,the German preferred diesel against American's Jet.The 120mm Gun was the by product of that failed joint venture. Pakistan should follow the examples of Russia and China .....99% self dependence.

I don't know if its the underlining hopelessness people feel that they are small and can't challenge the powers that be, or fear that stepping out of line will ruin not only themselves but the prospects of their entire family and dare not speak for fear of hurt those they love.

Foreign investors will invest,at best,in consumer industries,but never in strategic enterprises, i.e,Britain's Lever Brothers (the biggest tax payer)will only produce ,Biscuits,process Kenyan imported tea or American edible oil into Banaspati Ghee etc etc.Rolls Royce will never manufacture any aero engine in Pakistan,until and unless its in their own very long term interest.Ex-patriate will not be successful as long as Badmuashia is in power.
