What desperate act ?

No heart feelings dear , just i want to you to show little reality and third world countries system of trade still working much better then plastic money system of US.

This is the delima , generals and think tankers sitting in pentagon never try to observe themself the practical life of people living in third world countries .

Afghanistan is lowest in poverty line in the world still living in stone age , a person sitting Newyork cant imagine their needs and requirements.

After eight years US general realised to understand the life style and culture of Afghans, which is first good step of US in Afghanistan .They should take this step on first day.

Anyhow still atleast i am hopefull about peace deal between US and Afghans mujahdeens , US already tested the level of determination and bravery of Afghans in battle field , better test their hospitality and brotherhood by extending hand of frienship with them .

I would refrain to respond your comments directly, instead i would mention some personal experience.
I hope you know shia of Pakistan send their donations to Iran from where it is transfered to Iraq! but there is a group which always send it directly to iraq and one of my Pakistani collegue shia engineer admitted to me that he is one of those who send money to iraq to a person.. who's name was later involved in death squads used for ethnic cleansing of sunis and we know the association of death squads with infamous black water. my collegue was employed in Saudi and i never asked how he sent his money to death squads / black water in iraq.
I have seen indians with green residence permit in Saudi Arabia who are inable to recite first Kalama. This was experimented in front of my eyes by one Palestinian contractor, who called one of his labor and asked him to recite Kalma. I personally, would never dare to ask indians to show their id and recite kalma for me.
Point is Saudi Arabia is monitored by spies from all around the world and if ther is any truth in your claims it may have made its way to the govt. which is fighting same menace.

Funds are being collect as charity for "Afghan brothers" - if you have any friends or know of people in Saudi, ask them if this is not true, in every Masjid, after Qutba, funds are being collected as "Charity" and of course the wool is being pulled over everyone's eyes -- how does the money get through, the usual age old systems smuggling and Havala. If you go on the SITE website there is even a video of them thanking their Saudis.

Funds collected by after prayers ar enot enough to sustain wars for years! specially when TTP cheif said that he has more money than govt. of Pakistan.
You are welcome to ask Saudi friends about the volume of the collected amount.
Next part is to organise arms and transporting them to Pakistan and using them agaist Pakistan army and yet our resourceful army is oblivious to this secret and only you know it?

All arab states has been helping poor people around the globe irrespective of religon and charities are part of religon.
In Pakistan and India charity money also comes in from west only to run missions and helping only Christians and those have been misused for years and i being student of a christian school is an eye witness to it but the volume is so small that we don't care.
You should know i can pull up lot of connections of many no Saudi charities to real unfair bussinesses.

Saudi funding for the TTP is a serious problem. The Saudi salafis are desperate to bail out their stooges in the tribal area. Local security officials have identified speciific Saudi charities that are being used for this purpose.

The sooner we start directly targeting the saudi financiers the better off we'll be.

The US has told its Nato partners that funds from individuals in Gulf states such as Saudi Arabia now rival drug money as a source of financing for Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The US launched a high-profile push to reduce Gulf funding for the Taliban, al-Qaeda and other militant groups operating out of Afghanistan in the immediate aftermath of the September 11 attacks in 2001. As a result, in recent years insurgent links to Afghanistan’s burgeoning heroin trade have become the principal focus.

But Richard Holbrooke, US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, expressed fresh concerns to Nato ambassadors during a briefing this week on the US’s strategic review of Afghan-Pakistan policy, which is expected to be announced on Friday.

“He said that the prime source of funding for the Taliban is not from narcotics but from private individuals and groups in the Gulf region particularly Saudi,” said a western diplomat, without giving further details.

Another official attending the meeting said Mr Holbrooke had suggested that much of the funding from poppy production appeared to go to individuals linked in some way to the Afghan government.

“There is real concern about funding for extremists in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region coming from the Gulf, which we understand rivals or exceeds the money they are getting from drugs,” said another diplomat, quoting estimates of $150m-$300m for insurgents’ drugs cash.

Diplomats made clear that the money did not appear to come from Gulf governments but from groups and private individuals.

The US has for some time been pushing Saudi Arabia to ensure that funds raised for charities do not ultimately finance Islamist militants.

The drive has been headed by Stuart Levey, Treasury undersecretary in the administration of George W. Bush, who was this week formally retained in his post by Barack Obama, Mr Bush’s successor as president. Mr Levey has pushed for years for Saudi Arabia to oversee effectively the international activities of Saudi-based organisations through a charities commission.

The Saudi embassy in Washington did not immediately reply to a request for comment late on Wednesday.

Saudi may be supporting the Afghan Taliban, but I see no reason for them to support TTP. Saudi already have Jamaat-e-Islami in Pakistan. TTP is more likely to be an Indian/Israeli operation because they started after the US invasion.

TTP puerly operate against Pakistan interest and is in strategic interest of US - india etc... nexus to have a weaker and aid dependent Pakistan.
