What's new

Tejas, long wait for nothing

The JF-17 maybe a joint Chinese/Pakistani project with a Russian engine

With consultancy from Mikoyan and major share of R&D with China...

to-be-indigenously-developed engine for the LCA -- Kaveri -- was forgotten and the US made General Electric F-404 engine was substituted.

Absolutely wrong. The plan always included with F 404 as a backup to Kaveri, with prototypes powered by GE F404s.No sensible designer would put an unproven engine on an unproven airframe.

Radar was sourced from Erricson Ferranti

It was never sourced from Erricson. It is an HAL project with DRDO's LRDE,BARC & ECIL as a subsystem provider.

carbon-fibre composite panels for wings from Alenia

Alenia was merely a consultant for NAL,the designer and manufacturer of prototype wings.http://www.nal.res.in/pdf/ipmar00.pdf

fly-by-wire controls from Lockheed Martin.

FBW software was developed by ADA and was tested on F 16 VISTA,before Pokhran tests.

Design help was sought from British Aerospace, Avion Marcel Dassault and Deutsche Aerospace.

Absolutely wrong.Only Dassault qualified and was appointed as the design consultant for LCA design

Wind tunnel testing was done in the US, Russia and France.

A major part of wind-tunnel and CFD analysis was done in India.

As for armaments -- missiles, guns, rockets and bombs -- every last item was to be imported.

Sudarshan LGB,Astra ? Gsh-23 made at OFB ?

Here goes your claims,genius.

Seems your brain was also installed by DRDO

Your brain seems as functional as indigenous Pakistani moped engine...doesn't exist

The only indigenous thing about JF17 is the Pakistani pilot in it.
Rest everything, I repeat, rest everything is imported.

The chinese won't even allow these guys to change the name :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

35 years no serial production or induction shame for DRDO / HAL

Indian engineers are not ready to sign off on the plane yet. Maybe they know something no one knows. But at least Indian AF knows. Which is why they prefer Rafale.

But the prideful Modi regime refuse to buy Rafale as it would show that they also get rip off just like the Singh gov. So they go with a platform that's being developed for 33 years with no end in sight.

Nice joke....

The thread is not about JF-17 but obviously for some one like you, it's easier to digress than digest...in any case here's a brief video to put your mind to rest.

Wow...big deal.Even HAL in the 1980s could achieve more localization than that.

Pakistan is a much smaller country. No wonder India like to compare it's achievement with Pakistan. And for things that Pakistan is better, India would compare withBD or SL.. It's all for bragging.

Yes,of course, you could compare Bangladesh's HDI & Literacy rate with Pakistan.

Only an absolute IDIOT would come to the conclusion that devloping state of the art in-house design, testing, production facilties, establishing an extensive supply chain incorporating both public and private companies ranging from large firms to SMEs etc etc was all a wait for "nothing".

Show me the nation who has done a better job under the same hurdles India faced (zero industrial base, sanctions, limited funding etc etc).

The LCA's success will lead to success in the AMCA, UCAV projects and beyond- everyone has to start somewhere.

Like I have said- only utter IDIOTS or complete LOSERS would make such a judgement.

OK if you asking example just compare. Pakistan with Mumbai city
Which much small in population and geographical area

Pakistan is still failed to achieved this

LMAO.....why cry river over a thread change title, when you know exactly what the thread is about:
LCA was deemed to be a failure when conceived 30 years ago..........it will remain shyt, with not much demand by IAF.
I mean, they'd rather operate the MIG 21s (a 60s era plane) than quickly ramp up LCA numbers.

Speaks very well of how good or bad the LCA is........or that IAF is really made up of dumbwits.
If there are any dumbwits to be found it is to be those spotuing such nonsense.

Clealry you are unaware of the mechnism of inducting a NEW system into the Indian (or any) military, it is utterly irrelevent what the status of the current inventory is (MiG-21s in this instance), as long as the system you are looking to induct does not meet specific criteria it cannot be inducted.

The other option is you artifically lower your requirments (as the PAF has done) and induct a sub-optimal platorm but then are at the whims of the developer to bring the product up to speed.

It is two different ways of approaching the problem but the fact is the IAF's methodolgy will mean that the LCA Mk.1 will be more capable than your JF-17 BLK.2. The LCA Mk.1A/P/+ (following soon after) will be more capable than your proposed Blk.3 and the LCA Mk.2, well........

And What about there highly trained pilots

What has LCA Tejas given to India?
