Its 30 years from start to end lol.

the tejas is single engine btw...single engine not an ideal fighter jet..most airforces will go for double engines

Tejas is turning out to be Much more capable that it was planned for. Now it will be a very light fighter with decent weight carrying for its multirole mission with top class technologies and weaponry and top class Electronics. It is transforming into a @$$ kicking fighter with no match aircraft with India's enemies.

Still lacks the range. Concept is too outdated. Trying to fit 200 sticks in a 100 stick matchbox has taken too much time.

It was not design for range. It carries same fuel as JF 17 and Gripen. In Mk2 version, range can be improved and can be bought up to the level of MMRCA.

No. That is a pipe dream. If range increases then payload weight decreases. You can't have the cake and eat it. Instead of going for the MK2 we must pour in resources into the AMCA. The design is frozen, technology is in place and the funding that will ease up after MK2 cancellation will help move the project faster. The stealth tests have yielded good results.

We are wasting our time with MK2. The scenario has changed and there is no place for a Mirage 2000 equivalent anymore that is in development.
