And still they say Pakistan is protecting Talibans..

Well the guy who did the shooting made a big mistake by not hiding his face, the ISI would most likely take care of him in couple of days.
RIP to the dead.

Not easy in those mountains.. but yes these look like a couple of amateurs.. and if caught..
Will not be killed easily.. The pain that awaits them at the hands of the comrades of those who were murdered in that video cannot be measured.
Eventually.. they will beg for death and it will not be given.. such is how vengeance operates.

If they are so much brave y dont they come face to face and fight .What sort of Bravery is it to murder these handcuffed soldiers.

It is very very sad .May these coward bastard die miserably that they ask for death but could die....

May Allah grant the souls of fallen solider jannah and give their families the courage and strength to bear the great loss.Ameen

What is pakistani army waiting for. Cant it go on offensive?

The main reason Taliban does this is to make fear in the tribal regions, and it is true if Pakistani army goes on the offensive and goes all out, these Terrorists will be running with their tails between their legs.

This event came when Pakistan was in talk with them and talks were heading in the right directions. All of sudden this happen feels like some one out there is trying it best to sabotage the peace talks.

PA knows what it has to do , and i am sure they will take care of these bastard very well without going in for full scale operation.

What do mean sir? PA is already war-ridden... Ask this question to the authorities on other side of western border, they allow them to infiltrate to their side for safe havens when these scum are chased by PA.

Bh,,,,ds should be butchered like cattle... and thanks for revealing ur pics mother...kers.... wish you a painful n long journey to hell... sons of b...ches!

The FC personnel are simply being used as cannon fodder ; One thing that is unclear is the training methods of these Taliban scum. How are they able to organize themselves to attack and capture an entire fort while the sentries run away ? Maybe Irfan or someone like Xeric can explain this to me.

Your first sentence is unjustified. Both regular and paramilitary troops have died in this war. We have lost special forces personal and officers up to the ranks of Generals. Its fine criticising Pakistan from outside but that criticism shouldn’t lack facts.

Re success rate of Taliban attacks you have valid questions nonetheless.
I dont have much information on this incident to comment with certainty but whatever information is there (given the level of our media reporting). I can only make some presumptions due to lack of front line reporting we dont get much information that can shed light on the reasons these attacks are successful.
The taliban excel at using cover and surroundings to launch their attacks and best part is that they are able to mount attack with big numbers.
The question arises how they are able to move large mass of fighters undetected to the target part of that question is explained by their good local knowledge about the terrain and the centuries old experience of fighting bigger and conventional enemies through gorilla tactics and the part is explained by their ability to meld into the civilian population. This is the trump card of the Taliban and they are never shy to use them.

On the other hand both US and Pakistan use their airpower and artillery to their advantage. The small arms and training don’t suggest much superiority of one over the other. NATO soldiers for example call in air strikes if they get some resistance.

Over the years the Pakistan army and paramilitary forces have transformed themselves into a far better COIN fighting forces than what they were back in early 2000s. The were regular desertions and morale was low among the paramilitary forces but that has changed now. But given the human nature, no amount of training, discipline and military hardware an guarantee that you wont have people who will let down their comrades and their country. You can see some less than impressive incidences in Afghanistan recently too.

But like the FC commander mentioned, the FC remains the frontline fighting force in the WoT in the Pakistani tribal and adjacent areas. Thanks to former IFGC Gen Tariq Khan who transformed it from a broken and demoralised force into a very well organised and effective fighting force which is not just a hanger on and a burden to the regular forces but very capable and dependable ally.

Mind you that this attack was a reaction to the earlier Security operation where a TTP commander Qari Kamran was killed along with 12 other terrorists. So its not like FC personal are sitting ducks and only on receiving end. But indeed this attack and the resulting deaths of the kidnapped FC personal doesn’t reflect very highly about the paramilitary force.

But since it’s a war with no end there is no guarantee that unfavourable incidents like these would never happen again. Consider the battle of Wanat in Afghanistan when the Taliban were able to subdue the worlds most powerful military in the history of mankind. Granted they didn’t kidnap any US soldiers but they made their comrades in the helicopters see helplessly as they killed the soldiers defending the outpost. After the Americans abandoned the base and left for Taliban, Taliban scored double points by showing arms and ammunition & fuel that the Americans didn’t destroy before their retreat.

I must conclude my post by mentioning the nature of the tribal people of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Baloch and Pakhtons have a lot of resolve and are very persistence and one thing that the invaders always seem to dismiss or overlook (out of ignorance or arrogance) is that these people have a lot of patience. They will wait and wait and wait and wait and wait (I cant repeat enough times) for their chance to see when they have an opening and they will strike. It doesn’t matter how many of their leaders you kill in drone strikes or through operations, they wont relent and wait for their chance. Do you remember when Hilary Clinton boasted that Taliban cant wait us out and will have to come to terms? Now guess what who is coming to terms with Taliban? Before it was secret but now they are openly admitting holding regular meetings with all major Afghan factions that are opposed to the American occupation of Afghanistan. Hopefully Americans will be more understanding now when we do the same on our side and isolate the hardcore terrorists from those who are only protecting their honour and are opposed to the occupation.
