Taliban chief says victory in Afghanistan "close"

Why are you guys Afraid of Talliban? Were they not in power before the Invaders got in? What trouble did you see there in Afghanistan under their rule? Get out of this fearofenia and realize Americans out of this territory will give Pakistan stability. We have nothing but to Cherish on this statement.
Nope not at all - You see this is short sightedness.Taliban Government in Afghanistan would be the greatest threat Pakistan has ever faced (Even when we supported Taliban they refused to accept Durand Line and refused to give back some people who had killed Shias in Pakistan in Sectarian Killings).Taliban Cousins aka Tehrik-e-Taliban will go ahead and use Afghanistan as a base for attacks on Pakistan.Anyone who cherish Taliban clearly does not look at long term effects of such government. In fact if Taliban's had given refugee to Osama then US would not even waste it's time in Afghanistan.Don't mix your hatred for Americans into crush on Taliban's.The ideology of TTP and Taliban is same the only difference is target.Taliban have Afghanistan in their sight while TTP has Pakistan in their sight.

last time these nothren allince never stay 3 months in front of flood of taliban. i really think from now should be all afghans try to migrent rather then face barbarism force of evil. and let afghanistan emty like in 2000.

I wonder why US and NATO failed to subdue with such modern technology. Bear footed Taliban, who even don't possess sufficient food stuff are successfully moving ahead to force the aggressor to evacuate. Perhaps they are defending their land :usflag:

Hello graphican,

The trouble was, they had harbored Bin Laden and organization. The US was in the middle of trying to figure out a way of negotiating with the Taliban in turning over Bin Laden for attacks that had preceded the events of 9-11. (See the attacks in Africa and the 2000 USS Cole bombing) Then after the event of a military attack on a very non military target (Twin towers), all negotiations were off.

I can only speculate that the Taliban was not aware of what Bin Laden and his organization was planning, otherwise... if they had any diplomatic tact, they would have dropped him like the hot potato he was and the US and it's allied coalition would have had absolutely no reason in being in Afghanistan.

As for Pakistan becoming more stabilized after or whenever the US leaves the country, i highly doubt that will occur. Too much has changed and transpired since 2001 for that to happen. Pakistan's best bet would be to work with and not against other countries in the region, as well as with a few form outside the region, in helping to make any Afghanistan government that is in place a more stable one.

Regards

No for the Taliban it is distorted ideology and brainwashing with gorilla warfare and suicide bombings.

No country in the world can 100% defeat that because you don't know who your enemy is and how quick he is willing to take his life just to damage or kill you. This isn't Germany or Japan where the U.S. destroyed them in a few years of getting fully into the war and they surrendered. Those were countries and the enemy was their army. This can be compared to Vietnam.

Hamid Karzai is running the country like he owns the place and is busy pocketing $ for him and his brother.

What do you expect, US always seem to pick the worst guy. Karzai may have served the purpose in short term, but in the long run he is going to be a liability.

US needs a person who serves them like a slave, and for that the ideal would be a person who would be corrupt to the core and would worship money. And such persons are always like Karzai.

@ Topic..

I think their primary goal was to hide in caves and rule Afghanistan from there, thats y they always find themselves close to success since for them half the job is done!! (they have reached the ruling caves):cheesy::lol:

And ISAF is in the domes of defeat and humiliation.:p:rofl:

Hehe, when NATO/ISAF leaves, Omar will probably will 60-70% of his fighters. Most only joined to fight what they perceive as foreign invaders.

Those cherishing the ISAF defeat should also worry about dooms day scenerio for Pakistan. The over confident talibans will revenge by taking their war to Pakistan. Keeping the tribal customs in mind collective punishment is the only way out of this terror grip. Once their man power pool is significantly weaken they will swallow their priden and surrender. Read up european victory over native indians in continental america.

Exactly BB. This war already damage us a lot. So sooner it ends the better is the chance for some reconciliation and stability in this region and especially Pakistan. The war is going in circles and should end as soon as possible.

I just wish pakistan to be ruled by the Taliban. You wish bad for me, i wish bad for you.

Why are you guys Afraid of Talliban? Were they not in power before the Invaders got in? What trouble did you see there in Afghanistan under their rule?

We saw masacares of civilians by tens of thousands by the Taliban during their rule. We saw a complete demolition of villages, cities and houses by the taliban. They are still killing the innocent people in large numbers.

If you wish Pakistan would be secure if Nato is defeated then you are are deadly wrong!! Taliban of today is not the same as yesterday's taliban. Pakistan is now days hated among the Taliban, they cant forget the arrest of their leaders and their humiliation(remember Mullah Zaef and others?)

Wrong! Defeat of NATO doesnt mean an end to conflict in the region!! There will be huge bloodshe in Afghanistan and Pakistan, civilians will be killed in a big rate, hatred will be high and as a result the region will never see peace.
