TAILOR MADE! Specs of Bangladesh Air Force J-10C

. . .
The best 'evidence' of J10 has of course been the photo of BAF pilot in China.
But considering the style of functioning of the website, I think that they got that photo first and then decided to spin a story around it and then release the photo as 'evidence'.

That said, I do think that either J10 or Mig35 are coming to BD with a slight possibility of both.

Its in China.com.cn/cjdby/sina.com.cn

Su35 and J10 is the most advisable combo I can ever image.

I think BAF is getting 8+4 SU-35, 16 J-10C and 16 Mig-35 for now, with more J-10Cs and Mig-35s to follow.
Mig-35 would only be accepted if BD was offered an assembly line to build it themselves. For a country like BD, assembling an aircraft like Mig-35 would help kick-start it's own aerospace industry.

I am more excited about the prospects of ToT than the induction of the aircraft themselves. The days of purchasing and then depending on foreign sources for minor maintenance/overhaul are best relegated to the pages of history.

Far less developed countries with far less resources are riveting together aluminium frames and sheet to 'make' aircraft. We as a nation of 160 million don't have this capability and it is a shame.

For example Americans build small trainers in their garages (homebuilt ultralights). They are also available as kits.

Why should some guys flatter themselves in the PDF by talking of ToT? Setting up an assembly plant in Dhaka itself is not a Transfer of Technology. ToT may mean the transfer of technology to manufacture thousands of parts locally, which is not possible however people say they were born out of the same mothers' womb. Even a modern car requires more than 20,000 body and machine parts. Can BD people manufacture them locally? The work is not cutting and welding the steel plates as it is in the shibuilding.

I would propose that a developed country kindly sends BD the ToT and blueprints/drawings of a modern electronics lathe machine to see if BD people can build up the machine. BD should start from the lathe machine and next step shall be to manufacture the sewing machines and needles. These two items have a huge civilian market, yet BD is unable to produce these vital item. War plane blueprints will certainly not cause us to build sophisticated planes at least at this stage.

Very true.

IMHO most important aspect at this moment would be completely independent MRO and spare manufacturing capabilities. And thankfully BD armed forces are concentrating on that. In last few years BAF & BA made some great achievements on that.
