Turkey is in the union of the West , therefore, she has after some point to act with them; Russia and china is another ''union'', which means they are rival in global world. We are independent, but at the same time responsible for other countries in the union. This is not something like honour but it is about respect and trust, which is a must in an union. i am not saying Turkey should obey anything The nato countries want, but i am saying Turkey should talk and negotiate, just as she is doing it right now.

as for Muslim countries, what you say is an utopia. Turkey did it before. Turks lived side by side with other muslims during the ottoman era (500 years); but when Turks got weak; they collaberated with the West( the kafir) , and back stabbed us. This is reality, not hatred.

so your argument that Turks should work with muslims( except for some like Turkic ones like Azerbaijan, and Pakistan) is totally unbeneficial for Turkey in all respect, such as science, industry, education etc.

as for your last paragraph, you are making irony unintentionally, every country and union try to achieve what they predict, therefore draw some strategy. which is at the moment an alien to muslim countries that deal with each other instead of pondering the next 10-20-100 years.

I agree that they should talk and negotiate, although what does that consist of?

I'm not saying Turkey should leave one union and join a newly formed pact. I'm saying it wouldn't hurt had these nations cooperated together. In all fields.

All nations should study and layout their future initiatives a hundred years ahead even. But, certain players want it to play within their rules of the game. It works according to them, although I see several differences in the future with these nations so I wouldn't take their word in all honesty right now.

.
when you get old enough , then you have a right to talk among the adult; but if you are 5 years old WHO tries to deliver a speech on a serious matter, people just laugh at you.

No muslim country is powerful( not military, but industry, science etc) enough to talk among the adult; so save the breath untill you see yourself at that point.

i mentioned about the anventure of Turks with other muslims during the ww1, so please do not expect Turks to shed the blood for you again.

What does your response have anything to do with what I said? You're either misunderstanding me or attacking me for no reason.

Turkey on China missile deal: Game not over yet
BURAK BEKDİL

A defense official says Turkey remains ‘receptive’ to improved offers from all three bidders on a missile-defense program, despite Ankara's selection of China’s CPMIEC in September

n_57367_4.jpg

It’s the kind of thing important men in Ankara love the most: Delegations from the world’s major powers knocking on their doors with their best pleasantries and trying to change their minds – or stop others from trying to change their minds. Last week, U.S. and Chinese military and government officials did exactly that in Ankara.

The Chinese want Ankara to finalize a $3.44 billion deal which Chinese Precision Machinery Import and Export Corp. (CPMIEC) has come close to finalizing, but may lose out on at the last minute. The Americans want them to lose out. So do the Europeans who were not in Ankara on the same week as the Americans and Chinese were.

The contract is to build Turkey’s first long-range air and anti-missile defense shield.

A senior defense procurement official said the three-way competition looks like it has still not yet ended. “We have not yet signed a contract with any rival manufacturer. We shall remain receptive to improved offers from all three bidders,” he said.

A Defense Ministry official also said Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had signaled that he would be prepared to be briefed if any or all of the top three short-listed bidders in an initially four-rival contest improved their proposals enough to make them worthy of a rethink.

“I think the critical word here is ‘worthy.’ Insiders are professionals and they will understand what that means,” he said.

On Sept. 26, NATO member Turkey announced that it selected CPMIEC for the program, sparking a major dispute over whether the Chinese-built system could be integrated with the NATO air defense assets stationed in Turkey.

The Chinese contender defeated a U.S. partnership of Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, offering the Patriot air defense system; Russia’s Rosoboronexport, marketing the S-300; and the Italian-French consortium Eurosam, maker of the Aster 30. Turkey has said Eurosam came second in the competition, Raytheon third and the Russian solution had been eliminated.

Erdoğan said Oct. 25 that Ankara would be open to new offers if talks with CPMIEC fail. “Currently I don’t know if there are different proposals from the other parties. If there are, they could be considered,” he said.

The defense procurement official said Turkey would “enthusiastically assess” rival bids if they make sense in terms of costs and the level of technology transfer Ankara requires.

CPMIEC is under U.S. sanctions for violations of the Iran, North Korea and Syria Nonproliferation Act.

Despite warnings from U.S. and NATO officials who have expressed concerns about interoperability problems, Turkey’s top procurement official, Murad Bayar, has said the Chinese system would be operable with the NATO assets stationed in Turkey.

According to Bayar, Turkey selected the Chinese solution because it was better than rival bids in terms of “price, technology, local work share, technology transfer and credit financing terms.”

But U.S. Ambassador to Ankara Francis Ricciardone told reporters Oct. 24 that the United States was very concerned about the China missile defense deal. He said he understands the deal was a commercial decision and it was in Turkey’s sovereign right, but that the U.S. shared the same concerns with NATO and was concerned about what it meant for allied air defense.

A U.S. administration official in Washington told the Hürriyet Daily News that the U.S. was much more concerned about the deal than it publicly has expressed.

Reuters reported last week that Turkey had asked the U.S. to extend the pricing on Raytheon’s proposal, a sign that Ankara is keeping its options open in case talks with CPMIEC fall through. Raytheon said Oct. 24 that it was still ready to sell its Patriot system to Turkey if Ankara changed its mind.

And an official from Eurosam has said the company was working to make its offer better “especially in view of Turkish sensitivities about technology transfer.”

The Turkish program consists of radar, launcher and intercept missiles. It has been designed to counter both enemy aircraft and missiles. Turkey has no long-range air defense systems.

About half of Turkey’s network-based air defense radar picture has been paid for by NATO, as they are part of the NATO Air Defense Ground Environment. Without NATO’s consent, it will be impossible for Turkey to make the planned system interoperable with these assets, some analysts say.

To defend against missile threats, Turkey needs satellite and dedicated ballistic-missile detection and tracking radar like the NATO radar deployed last year in Kürecik in eastern Turkey.

Turks May Rethink China Missile Deal

ANKARA — NATO member Turkey’s stunning decision to select a Chinese contender to build the country’s first long-range air and missile-defense system does not mean that the game is over for US and European companies that bid for the prize, government officials said.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters Oct. 25 that Ankara would be open to new offers if talks with China Precision Machinery Import Export Corp. (CPMIEC) fail. “Currently, I don’t know if there are different proposals from the other parties. If there are, they could be considered,” Erdogan said.

A senior procurement official said the decision to select CPMIEC may not be the end but rather the beginning of a fresh round of competition. “The game is certainly not over yet. We would enthusiastically assess rival bids if they make sense in terms of costs and the level of technology transfer we require,” he said.

Turkey announced Sept. 26 that it selected CPMIEC to build the country’s first long-range air defense architecture, sparking a major dispute over whether the Chinese-built system could be integrated with the NATO air defense assets stationed in Turkey.

The Chinese contender defeated a US partnership of Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, offering the Patriot air defense system; Russia’s Rosoboronexport, marketing the S-300; and the Italian-French consortium Eurosam, maker of the Aster 30. Turkey has said Eurosam came second in the competition, Raytheon third and the Russian solution was eliminated.

Murad Bayar, Turkey’s top procurement official, said the Chinese offer was priced at US $3.44 billion. CPMIEC is under US sanctions for violations of the Iran, North Korea and Syria Nonproliferation Act.

Despite warnings from US and NATO officials over interoperability problems, Bayar said the Chinese system would be operable with the NATO assets stationed in Turkey.

According to Bayar, Turkey selected the Chinese solution because it was better than rival bids in terms of “price, technology, local work share, technology transfer and credit-financing terms. The Chinese bid is perfectly in compliance with our terms and conditions.”

But US Ambassador to Ankara Francis Ricciardone told reporters Oct. 24 that the United States was very concerned about the China missile defense deal. He said he understands the deal was a commercial decision and was within Turkey’s sovereign right, but that the United States shared NATO’s concerns, including what it means for allied air defense.

A US administration official in Washington said in a telephone interview that “the United States was much more concerned over the deal than it expressed.”

But Turkey’s Army chief remained defiant. “We have not been notified of any concern from the United States,” Chief of General Staff Army Gen. Necdet Ozel told reporters Oct. 29.

Reuters quoted sources as saying that Turkey had asked the US to extend the pricing on Raytheon’s proposal, a sign that Ankara is keeping its options open in case talks with CPMIEC fall through. Raytheon said Oct. 24 that it was still ready to sell its Patriot system to Turkey if Ankara changed its mind.

An official from Eurosam said Oct. 28 that the company was working hard to improve its offer, “especially in view of Turkish sensitivities about technology transfer.”

The Turkish program consists of radar, launcher and intercept missiles. It has been designed to counter both enemy aircraft and missiles. Turkey has no long-range air defense systems.

About half of Turkey’s network-based air defense radar picture has been paid for by NATO. They are part of the NATO Air Defense Ground Environment. Without NATO’s consent it will be impossible for Turkey to make the planned Chinese system interoperable with these assets, some analysts say.

To defend against missile threats, Turkey needs satellite and dedicated ballistic-missile detection and tracking radar, such as the NATO radar deployed last year in Kurecik, in southeastern Turkey.

For the anti-aircraft component, Turkey needs an overall picture for data fusion. The Patriot system, for instance, can detect threats with its own radar. So does the Chinese system. But without integrating into a full air picture, the Chinese system could not work efficiently, analysts said.

While our enemy China offers us tech transfer our lovely allies clearly say that don't buy from China but sorry we can not provide technology transfer to you.

Even China offers this much to a NATO country, while our "allies" offer jack. That is just phucking ignorance at its best, first offering a really sh!tty deal and then cry about it why the hell we chose an alternative.

i dont feel insulted at all. merely stating what i think, which is that:

1. china and turkey are not enemies

2. "individuals like you and i" should view this missile deals as pure business which works for both sides whether the deal actually goes through or not, the chinese have their PR and the turkey government get their leverage against the US

3. (actaully an extension of point 1,) chinese dealings in its west should not dictate chinese-turkish relations in general, and as a supporting point, i said china does not let domestic and old turkish events color it currently dealings, turkey should do the same with regards to domestic chinese dealings.

ABD'den yeni füze teklifi - ABD- ntvmsnbc.com
ABD'li silah üreticileri Raytheon ve Lockheed Martin, füze savun ihalesinde Türkiye'ye yeni bir teklif için çalışma yürütüyor.
İki ABD'li şirketin Ankara'ya yapacağı teklifin, Çin'in yaptığı teklife yakın olması bekleniyor.

This will cause second thoughts; I'm just saying....
