T-129 Atak & Turkish Attack Helicopter Programs

Is the 10 ton utility helicopter referring to the T-70 programme?

Also someone translate the meaning of numbers 9,15,14,21 on T129 image above

First 9 were early delivery chops, as the name suggests they are less equipped.

15 T-129b has been delivered, the proper version.

14 more will be delivered.

21 T-129b2 will be delivered, further upgraded version. Frist 9 early delivery chops will be also upgraded.

Yes, I thought assembly would begin after A variants were done but I guess it doesn't work that way.. TAI official said production rate is 2 per month, so should be ready to enter Turkish Land forces inventory in around 9 months..

According to TRT there will be 12 x T129 delivery by the end of the year to the total of 36.

If that's the case then T-129B should enter service in 6months?

Interesting video if it's up to date

Looks like the mid 40s are under structural build up

Mid 30s are getting tail and fusalege integration

And 20s are outside at the flight test station

So at anyone time they probably have upward of 20 units under various stages of construction

They might even reach end of this order by end of 2017 or early 2018

If they put in a follow up order get export orders keep the line open until 2020 then switch to 8 ton varient that would be really good

Overall clearly TAI working to high NATO standard even better than many European country's

Most important thing is for Turkey is to retain IP

Also to development not only hardware but the software and then to integrate

This without any 3rd party interference

And by all accounts they are working toward this

First army, then navy and then airforce

All these indigenous projects are directly benefiting Turkish economy through trickle effect of supply chain

Imagine this 59 helicopter order going to Boeing or Bell money going outside country
