SWEDEN’S GRIPEN BACK ON IAF’S RADAR FOR LIGHT COMBAT PLANES

Although not looking like paid news but does look like cooked up story. Parikar just mentioned low end fighter and that implies Tejas. whether Swedish DM has some agenda is none of our concern.

They may come, visit and go like many other who just come and go after seeing HAL.

THIS NEWS IS MERE SPECULATION AND NOTHING ELSE.

Leaked Swiss Mil report puts Rafale as superior aircraft in comparision to others

Has to do with the psyche of the subcontinent. If you manufacture something to "A" grade standards, people will still buy "B" grade, because it is "imported"!

(IF they can afford it, that is).

Indian armed forces procure in in a different matter without the intervention of GOI. there is a long history as to why imported stuff gets more weitage than local.

Heck if I give an analogy of Russian arms trade with India and how it has gone down in the favourite list then you will know that it's not all about kickbacks, kickbacks are only .5% of it.

You might remember a story that went viral a few years back, about billions of $'s stashed in Swiss accounts. The beneficiaries weren't just business men and politicians, there were officers of the Armed Forces as well.

To be honest I don't know if their amount was in millions or billions, but they were sure there in the list.

Mig-21 were some of the best in their time, And as time passed IAF expectations too grew from a fighter plane
Doesn't Change the Fact that IAF Still operating Mig-21 that to Till 2022 or Beyond As per My best Knowledge.Expectation is good Even I Expect IAF to Fly F-22 Like Fighter But that is Beyond of Reality.IAF Better, Should Except what We Have Now And What we can Afford in Future.

This could very well be a page from IAF's result during MMRCA trials. Rafale is probably the most mature platform of the 3 European products in race and the results confirmed that.
Had someone paid attention to the commercial part of the deal, IAF would've started flying Rafale by now. In any case hope is till not lost and i'm sure IAF will have Rafale in decent numbers (5-6 squadrons minimum) on its roster.

Not needed. Tejas is not that bad and it is not what is projected here on PDF. It is a good plane, but not up to the mark of what IAF expects from a fighter jet and what it flies. What is needed is improving the Tejas. As they say Rome is not build in one day.
Rome is not built in one day.

But crap like lca dont deserve 3.5 decade.

Defense ministry babu and officers are there for supporting IAF to make some quick bucks, but IAF is generally fond of imported stuff
Like any professional force, Iaf is going for quality on obvious reasons.

Why would any one buy a sub standard product which doesnt meet your requirement.
