Something like the Hamina class fac of finland may be what u are talking about. 4 AShM and 8 umkhonto-ir (14km) SAMs all fitted into a 250t stealthy FAC. Now whats interesting to me is if a small 250t ship can hold that many SAMs, why cant Azmat? Granted it cost 2x what azmat does, but if PN wants to hqve cost effective solutions using FAC swarms as the backbone to attack an IN blockade then an Azmat sized/cost vessel with some improvements along the lines of Hamina are important. Get it reasonable SAM capabilities with umkhonto-r (should fit given it os roughly the length of the umkhonto-ir (3.3M) and if a ship half its size can fit 8 then a redesigned Azmat or type 022 (which Pakistan is also getting) would likely be able to as well. Fit it with a decent radar (HaminasTRS-3D/16-ES radar can monitor 200km or airspace) , if fitted with good netcentric systems and under the control of a good c4isr system linked into larger frigates and awacs, these would have good situational awareness.

What PN could really use is a Sa'ar 5 type ship. If it could work with china and south africa on a corvette in the 1500t range with 8-12 vls for quad packed umkhonto-r and 8 c-802akg that would pack a huge punch. Add in a forward ciws in place of the main gun (pakistan is unlikely to do much shelling of ships or land based tagets) and an FL-3000 system in the back. Fit it with a radar like SMART-S mk2 and you would have a ship that will go toe to toe with most anything at a cost likely between f22p and c28a of algeria but with lower manpower needed to operate. The SAM range would be around 60km and with the c802akg you have a 280km range. The fl3000n gives added protection. PN could get around 8 for the cost of 4-6 type 054a. Sadly no such vessel existz but if israel could get Sa'ar 5 from US and fit 16 barak 8 and 8 harpoons, im sure china or potentially Germany (given they are making Sa'ar 6) or even S. Korea could deliver something similar for PN.

Excellent idea.

The Sigma FAC 7310 design is very close to what you are describing. It's 900 tons and can be equipped with the full gamut of AShW, AAW and ASW munitions. Granted, it is lighter and smaller than the Sa'ar 5, hence a reason why it lacks a helicopter landing pad and deck. China's warship design and development skills are credible, nothing should stop CSOC from designing something similar. If not them, then the PN could just talk to SIGMA.

Their core vessels aren't expensive (for Western standards); for example, Indonesia's SIGMA frigate is around $200mn (minus sensors and munitions). I reckon a fully-equipped 7310 - especially with South African AAW as well as Chinese AShW/ASW and sensors - shouldn't cross $150mn a unit.

As for Sa'ar 6, that's basically in the league of the MILGEM.

If you'd like swarm only, and can forgo the SAM, the Norwegian Skjold class (MTB) corvettes make for an excellent blueprint. Stealthy, fast - the fastest combat boats in service with any nation, small in size (47 meters, 270 tonnes), but packing some big teeth.

Hamina class FAC has 4 RBS-15 AShMs.

the Skjold class corvettes have 8 Naval Strike Missiles hidden in pop-up launchers built into the ships:

Hard to see, hard to catch, but with one big punch for their size.
