You are right.US is developed nation and large number of Indians are working there.But I know certain facts from my relatives in US .Few families in US follow a good family structure and values .It is crazy to compare US a country with 30 crores (a developed nation ,single language and single religion) and India a country that is still developing with with immensely diversified ,
hundreds of language and cultured 121 crore people.
But certain factors cant ignore.
Some times US is not good .A developed country cant become like this.
Check their gun related death.And their rape statistics also not good.
EU countries are also developed but these two cases are considerably low in that countries.
So I agree with OP.If that EU countries criticize us we can understand .But US try to preach good values to world while they killing lakhs of people in Afghanistan and Iraq and also with their gun culture.this is something we cant understand.

Nope, US media is not trying to project anything. US media has a lot of other work than to report rape in India as Breaking news. It's our media NDTV, Timesnow, CNN-IBN (And they are doing good job by reporting the news) who are reporting the news first and then US media, British media and other worldwide media report them.

In US girls have a lot of freedom. Many girls roam freely in Shorts or skirts. If the same would have happened in India, they would have been raped in open roads.

Face the truth than pushing the blame on other countries. It may be harsh now, but it'll help us in future, if we become conscious!

I won't have said all these, if this comparison thread was not started. We have an issue let's deal with it. What will we gain by saying US does this, US does that. US is our reference point or what ? How many rape cases of India are first reported by US news and then by an Indian news channel. None! It always goes the other way round.

Don't compare with US. Rape happens all over the world. It's just a matter of more and less. Don't forget that the Indian rape related news are reported by Indian and not US media. We should accept the issue. Only then we can mend it. Don't put blame on others. Help save the country. Even if lets say US have more, how's it going to help us ? Think.
