I've been reading a few interviews from Miftah. He is a libertarian from what I see. I like this fella's social and economic policy outlook and that is why I post in this thread. I don't mean for anything more than that.
How convenient, when you have a multi billion rupee profit generating enterprise...

Libertarianism is the biggest fraud economic philosophy out there and particularly so in a country that has a small tax base and it's biggest sources of income is the generosity of it's diaspora.

It’s like a crack head prostitute celebrating getting her GIRO as soon as the clock turns 12:00 am on her unemployment benefit date .

for non UK posters GIRO is welfare cheque paid into bank account .

It's the same PDM who were cursing PTI government for taking out IMF loans, now PDM is taking loans from IMF is a great achievement, PDM are nothing but a bunch of illiterate hypocrites.

. .
Why is no idiot asking how the imported gov got the country to near default in the first place…
Pakistan went to near default because Imran's fuel subsidy violated Pakistan's agreement with IMF. Without IMF program, Pakistan would not be allowed to roll over its other debt that was to be returned this year. The money ( $1 billion ) on its own is not the real importance of IMF program. It is the credibility that comes with being on an IMF program that Pakistan (and other countries like Sri Lanka) really seek. This credibility would allow other lenders to roll over the debt that Pakistan owes this year.

Correction
PDM is mostly made of highly educated people and voters

Please dont blame education as the problem

Apart from interior sindh which is mostly vote box stuffing then actuall voting PDM all voters are educated liberals or jiyalas

Reality is PTI has mostly uneducated supporters in KP and south punjab while PMLN has greatest support in lahore and highly educated areas

Now sure this may have changed due to recent chatrool but this stood true till 2018

I think Miftah is loads better than Ishaq Dar. Credit to him for increasing oil prices to somewhat normal levels globally. Of course, the situation is a bit harrowing otherwise. Gas prices way too low to be competitive for domestic exploration or discovery. Electricity prices don’t make sense anymore either - way too high.

But atleast he is operating the state in a way that is bereft of our political economy which is a good thing to do. Anyhow, our country’s Achilles heal is our political economy- when PTI tried to fix our economy, they paid a political price and now PMLN is too.

I will say that after reading about how Russia is offering Bangladesh oil at 69$/barrel- IK might have been right about being able to stave off the current inflationary cycle by buying Russian oil.

Are you aware of powering of buying of Pakistani people? .. Do you know commodity prices are going double after the flood and inflation?

On top every provincial govt was warned about the extra water in the coming season and take extra precautions to protect wheat in govt storage ..... but wastage as usual

Miftah is better than Dar that's for sure - and that's why they have a beef

but my problem is with PMLN in general, they are not fit for ruling Pakistan, their shenanigans single handily turned Pakistan from 6% growth to now possible a recession

Yup- in general, they and the PDM parties don’t deserve to rule that’s for sure-

Of course I will grant you this - libertarianism won't fix social/cultural issues or lack of infrastructure in Pakistan

The Pakistani state with its rent collection mentality is the biggest obstacle to economic progress of Pakistan. India and most countries in Africa have the same issue in varying degrees. It is amazing the Pakistani diaspora can do well abroad and cannot do squat in Pakistan

the small tax base is not an issue unless you want to treat the government as your personal piggy bank

Then why not let pti take political heat, why did pmln need to jump in

Don't judge these politicians by what they say instead judge them on the basis of their actions. Zardari and Bilawal claim to be socialists but in reality they are feudal lords. If Miftah is indeed a libertarian then why hasn't he made the market freer instead of furthering state intervention in the market.
