Show me some stats of your claims. :) Nobody buys it and the airlines that did roder it cancelled their orders.

Simple fact is that this airplane is a shitty product.

If Iran wanted russian trash they would not have made that nuclear deal.

We have the A320 neo which is perfectly fine for inland flights and the leading product worldwide in this class. And if you want to have an even smaller regional jet you can get Embraer and Bombardier. No need for russian garbage.

You should tell people, that almost all "Superjet" are sold inside russia. Not one international airline ordered them. 90% are russian airlines, the rest went to some developing countries. Sukhoi sold not a single machine to any renomated airline.

And i say this knowing that almost evry part on this jet is made in the west. Large parts are build in my homenation in italia. Superjet is a waste bin airplane. It gets cheap parts and is hold together with glue...basicly and does in no way fullfill western standards.



Btw what happened to the Superjet prototype? Haven´t seen it for a long time. :) Do you want tell the people here where it is? :)

What you mean by superjet prototype ? If you mean the one that crashed in Indonesia well Airbus a320 also crashed in its first public performance.

Quality of a plane is grossly overstated. Iran should be able to build something that can stay in the air and doesn't fall too often, and that's more important than having the best of the best. For now, quantity is more important, than quality. Iran needs to asap build cheap, small passenger planes to increase movement of people & products between cities. Intercontinental travel isn't as important is intercontinental travel, because if a location between Iran and another country has enough passengers, other international flights can offer the service also. But there are locations in Iran, where there are only 1 or 2 flights per week.

Last year, I did a calculation on Iran flights to see how overstated the panic on flights are. I took figures from 2004 up to 2014, so that's a decade. There were years when there were no deaths and years were it was as high as 189. On average, this came to over 52.58 deaths per year.

Okay, we had 17,585,151 passengers for 2010. This means that a chance for passenger fatality is 0.0003%.

Now, when it comes to cars, an Iranian dies every 19 minutes. That means, it only takes 16.65 hours for the same amount of people (52.58) to die in a car crashes! That's not even one full day!

So, okay, if the population of Iran is 80,000,000, and there are 28,000 car deaths per year, than it means that 0.0350% of them are dying in car crashes, while only 0.0001% are dying in air flights.

Now, we will compare deaths per 100,000. For flights, it is 0.07 deaths per 100,000. Okay, lets compare it to other causes of death.

Coronary Heart Disease kills 194.48 per 100,000 which means that it is an increase of 299,200% over flight deaths!
Road accidents are 43.76 per 100,000, and this is an increase of 67,323%
HIV/AIDS is 9.28 per 100,00 and this is 14,277% increase over flight deaths
Suicides is 3.72 per 100,00 and this is 5723%
Fires = 3.52 & 5415% increase
Falls = 3.27 & 5031%
Drownings = 1.34 & 2062%
Cervical Cancer = 0.55 & 846%

So, as you can, almost anything else is causing more death. That is, for example, an Iranian is at a greater risk of dying by himself falling than by a plane falling!

P.S. I made this analysis last year because my pregnant wife was traveling by plane one day after 40 people died in Sepehan Airlines in 9th of August. I was initially worried, but the numbers don't lie. She was at more risk of my car transport to the airport, than her in the plane.

Cheap airlines like Zagros, Kish air, Iran air tours(not Iran air) and Caspian are after this plane.Iran air,Mahan and Aseman wont buy any Russian plane and as I know Mahan has already purchased some secondhand A-330s and a-340s and Mahan will remained sanctioned( because it used to deliver military cargo and its sanction is irrelevent to nuclear sanctions). Iran air and Aseman are waiting for Obama to veto the negative vote of congress to purchase western planes.

Why would you order garbage when you can have airbus? That superjet is trash and evryone knows that. Its only ordered from poor nations who cant afford better and even auerbaijan cancelled all orders and switched to A320. I saw in Iran, that they want quality, if they order this, they will fall back in 3rd world status and iran deserves better.ä
Getting good planes was a mayor aspect for iran to make a deal with the west.

SSJ 100 fuel burn per hour is 1.6-1.7 tons of ATF. Good enough for a regional jet. Though Embraer's E-jet has a efficiency of 1.5 and is most efficient in the 78-98 seater class.

As for bigger ones they can order A350XWB which is excellent in terms of performance,A320 is good for 130 seater-180 seater class ,i.e. narrowbody class. A380 is a big lol. With a fuel consumption of 12 tons/per hour it is comparable to the AN-124-100 which already exceeds it in terms of cargo handling and capacity .

Your post is funny, considering that Il-76 and An-124 is heavily used by Western cargo charterers via third party agreements and the An-124 dominates the heavy cargo market and both il-76 and an-124 are heavily used for nato and un logistics supplies airlift. On Tu-204 , its spare parts availability is dismal to extreme and yes its efficiency is low also.


As for superjet 100 , not all that doom and gloom you portray. A good attempt into the regional jet market. And for Western buyers you have comlux,VLM,Willis lease finance ,Interjet,Pearl Aircraft corporation.

lol..full TOT? there are dozens of international companies involved in Sukhoi SS, including those from the US and UK....Even Russia I guess do not have the complete TOT for SS.

Sukohi SS is not a competitor to Boeing or Airbus..its in a different segment...challenging smaller jets like Embrarer

Although your overall statement is true but your references and numbers are so old as it seems...

Iran had only 16K casualties due to car accidents last year.. This makes it almost 33 minutes to fulfill your equation my friend...

Iran had 38K casualties in 2000, it went down to 28K in 2009, then again decreased to as low as 16K dead last year... Let us not forget that in 2000 we only had around 10 million cars in streets while it is now around 30 and there as an additional 1.3 million new cars on roads every year... This means the reduction in road casualties is semi-Miracle... although it does not change your point about car and plane fatalities...

I used to be scared of flights too due to seeing one to two planes falling off the sky every year in Iran, but since we retired topolovs the rate fell considerably for commercial flight accidents in Iran... Anyway, after I compared the chance of dying on a plane with that of cars on roads, I came to realize that we are trapped by media panic... It is safe...
