Newly updated Google Earth images reveal that since January 2021, Mighty Sukhoi Su-30MKI have been stationed at IAF Srinagar Base in Kashmir. Till 2019 only obsolete MiG-21 was deployed at this base.

why bother? both were shot down on Feb 27, 2019. what? the precious rafale too insecure to take up their mantel or is it still busy crushing coconuts???
I meant the claim killing 60 Chinese soldiers. Anyway, Chinese see a large and long term objective. The current retreat can be marked as defeat or better sense, it is up to you.
@Daghalodi
Man,,, it is funny but Abhi is a good soldier. He didn't shoot civilians which he could with his gun and surrendered to them upon getting hit with stones. Too bad he still got a severe beating from locals but Glad Pak army saved him.

we will not let you get non chinese avoinics. We did that with JF17 thunder.
SAAB carries non Chinese avionics. Seal sultan will have non Chinese avionics. JF17 has access to Grifo E and vixen 1000 radars for non chinese weapon suite.

Even if you get J10, we will not let you get non chinese avoinics. We did that with JF17 thunder.
uhm...you REALLY need to stop thinking too highly of yourselves. you took a dump in your dhottis trying hard to stop the Eireye AWACS deal & the F16s with AMRAAMs deal but failed. Besides, Chinese avionics have come up to par with western avionics in some areas and getting very close to western standards in other areas, so its not like we need the west anymore. ;)

Previous IAF strategy was to use MiG-21 as a delaying/diversionary tactics till reinforcements reach from Punjab or Haryana.
But it was later realized that this is not effective in short skirmishes as enemy jets may leave soon after taking a few pot shots.
So the function of MiG21 in IAF was either to delay/divert the enemy, or to simply force/dupe the enemy into remaining on the battlefield, or maybe both?

Look....I ain't no air force buff...but that's complete and utter bison crap.

I must agree...when out numbering us 28 to 1....with F 16 and AMRAAM....you will manage to shoot down exacly one Mig 21.
Lol 28-1 just lol, Why you send vintage Mig-21 if you know you will face F-16/JF-17/Mirages on Pakistani side?? its blunder of IAF, a good way to gets rid of your old Mig-21 :enjoy:
more accurately, they were treated as strategic jets in the past. Now they have been clearence for tactical air combat too.

What you did with our JF-17???

@Ghost Hobbit is pulling numbers and figures like 28-1 and doing something with JF-17 out of his arse...hope he doesn't over do it on his brown posterior, China has already ripped it open many times over...

We already have lots of non Chinese military stuff, US- ground based long range AESA/ SAAB Erie, you can't stop us to buying modern western military stuff, most recent example is project of PN long range jet powered MPA we bought form Embraer and its anti ship/sub equipment will be fitted by Germany and UK/Turkey

Hence now Su-30 MKI will be directly stationed in Srinagar.

They are good target practice for A100/200/300 MLRS

Mig 21 was made in 1960 and IAF is still flying it great.

IAF flys Mig-21 Bison which is the most advanced Mig-21 in the world and was built in 1980s.
Mig-21 Bison airframe age is same as PAF F-16s and IAF Mirage2000 and Mig-29s.
