Stupid :Why China is progressed more than India according to Rahul Gandhi

No, I have looked at the Map very carefully an it's GDP.... but You did not answer my question properly, Again the question is, Do you think that Punjab is poorer then Gujarat?

Please learn the difference between growth in GDP (what the graph portrays) and per capita GDP (an imperfect measure of the average person's well being).

Poorer in what sense? Natural resources alone do not correlate to individual - or even collective - prosperity, just look at the middle east.

If you mean living standards, then wealth or poverty has more to do with proper distribution and social safety net, without which all the aggregate growth in the world matters not to the unawakened, oppressed, propertyless classes.

Next time: Research and understand, or you may end up embarassing yourself with "Sweden has lower growth than India, ergo it is relatively 'poorer'."

Yours Imploringly,

Well being the world's biggest democracy, you could not vote for him. It is almost as if you have a choice. I could be wrong. It is to my understanding that voting is the difference between democracy and dictatorship. If not then isn't India just a dictatorship in a democracy skin?

BTW one family ruling one country for this long, impressive, even Chinese leaders haven't manage this.

u guys are BAD,thats no way to treat your future PM.IF he finds out about this forum and the way u guys make fun off him,he will unleash atrocities here :sniper::guns:,when his mommy comes to power!!!!:devil:

This is also the drawback of democracy as well. India post independence always had a significant percentage of poor illiterate people who voted for superficial reasons. And the socialistic economy of India did not help. This situaion made many middle class people lose come confidence as they stayed from voting. And the situation post independence when Congress was the only major political party did not help. Also the print media was dominated by so called pseudo intellectuals who was able to manipulate opinions in a big way.

With the economy going through growth since 1991, newer generation of poor got education and with that awareness has improved. Added to that the emergence of social media caused vibrant alternate thinking to spread. And BJP has filled the void of a major opposition party bringing in major onfidence among middleclass on the Indian democracy.

In HIDING. Self Imposed VANVAS.

After her name was associated with RG, her life has been ruined.

& Poor girl is saying that she will return to her home after VANVAS only once RG becomes PM, oh my, now she has to wait for 542 years to be precise.

Biggest VANVAS of all time.

The trouble with Congress is they are still stuck with Nehruvian model of growth. Even the erstwhile champions of Socialism and communism are turning to open market policies and in my mind the best way of poverty alleviation is more open economy. Some facts have been stated about Gujarat and i can tell (with my experience of living in gujarat for some time) is that the state promotes industry and entrepreneurship. It is not that Gujarat doesnot have poor people but the climate is such that any person can easily get some kind of employment.
Other states like UP and Punjab which are at lower rung of the growth map need not copy Gujarat model of industrialization blindly, their strength is Agriculture sector and if they promote free and fair growth, they can chart a similar success story.
In this context RGs (or by anyone) comparing with China in my mind is a meaningless exercise. China has had its own growth model based on her own strength, let India find her own.
What that requires is a visionary leader which i'm afraid under current leadership, UPA has none.
