People in Kalash Valley name children after household items

Parents also like naming their children after things new to them — like telephone and computer

Mobile, radio, computer are names of instruments, right? No. In a valley in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, these are also the names of people.

People living in Kalash Valley name their children after household items, reported the daily Dawn. Qudrat Allah, a development worker, was quoted as saying that in some cases, children have been named balti (bucket), glass and cooker.

Parents also like naming their children after things new to them — like telephone and computer. There is more. People are named Number-One, Mobile, Radio, Cassette and Akhbar (newspaper).

Not to forget, there is a boy named Pepsi.
