Strike package of PAF F-16 - Fear Factor

Because Block 52 is the Air Superiority version which is even better then some F15´s !

F15 is a twin engine air superiority fighter, and is a beast. Blk 60 series and its deviates may not be compared with the Strike eagle, which stands in its own category.

Personally I dont see the SABR radar in any future the future buys of 16s. I think the next acquisition of 16s will again if possible be more of the same. I think the developments in AESA and other goodies may well come from Chinese sources in future block JFT and next acquisition.

Even if Pakistan does not get an export version AESA on the F16, the force is still formidable with their APG68v9s, and that is due the constant training. You are right to assume that some of the Gen 4+ tech will be seen in JFT much faster than the export F16, such as HMDS, TVC WVRAAM, and AESA Intercept Radar.

Well, to be frank, the F-15 didn't fare well against the F-16 during exercises, the PAF Falcons repeatedly fleeced Saudi Eagles in one such exercise and American pilots have a similar view on such scenario.

According to one of the more experienced of the U. S. Air Force Viper’s pilots, Lieutenant Colonel Philipe “Rico” Malebranche, the F-16 can do very well against the F-15. The F-16 is small, light and agile: although it has a lower maximum speed and rate of climb, it has a smaller Radar Cross Section and, once on the merge, it’s harder to spot. Furthermore, its turn rate is impressive: it does not lose much energy in turns (unlike, for instance, a Mirage 2000) and can outmaneuver the F-15 in low altitude dogfights.

its a known fact that f 16 is better knife fighter then f 15 but how well do f 16 fare against f 15 in bvr combat.

As the US pilot explained, the F-16 has a smaller RCS compared to the bigger F-15.....the one who gets seen first is likely to get shot first.....same happened with JF-17 against a friendly country's large fighter, before it could spot the JF-17, the Thunder had already launched it's missile and broke off.

Can you please explain the utility of a TVC in a small single engined plane like JFT especially since the TVC Nozzles need changing quite frequently. It will add to the cost of maintenance but what do they bring in return as modern missiles can pull 30 to 50 Gs. Thanks in advance

sir i think you misunderstood sir bilal. he wasn't talking about tvc jf 17 but tvc wvraam missiles which can pull more G's and have better HOBS capability(A darter is rumored to pull 100g's) compared to missiles which only have control surfaces.

I will still vote for F-16 Block 52+ over another but with AESA

These r LGBs but they r dummy weapons .its an old pic when these planes were newly arrived from states .

F 16 are relics ,why the hell are Americans building those in India ?

PAF used to called IAF Gnat plane Mkhi fruit fly reason its too small hard to spot .

Hi,

Please allow me to interject---we thought that the missiles could pull 30--50 G's and the planes are toast-----but their problem is their speed---even though the speed of the missile gets it closer to its target---but in order to catch an aircraft doing 8 G's at 900 mph---the missile would have to do around 250 G's to make that tight a turn at 3000 mph---.

Your observation is correct. But the strike eagle is to stay away and fire BVRAAMs on data link or AWACS support. The RCS of SE made the US explore F22s and now F35s in low observable regime.

TVC quote is for the AAM not the aircraft.

Sorry my bad understanding. The eyes are perhaps not what they used to be and the brain goes the same way.
