Strike from 30 thousand feet.

Confrontation results with confrontation, not in the interest of Pakistan.

Very true no doubt about that...but for how long..is it because we have been lead by cowards or hijacked by cowards living in dxb and london. There is a limit for everything, and I personally belive this attack was a decoy to check the ability next time its gonna be even bigger and bigger and bigger.

Its time to show some balls before they bust our balls.:pakistan:

Last time I checked, the PAF operated 35 block 15 fighting falcons with a service ceiling of greater than 50,000 ft. More than able to take out a B-1. Not that it would make it past any type of fighter escort with BVR missiles, but still.... Also, the service ceiling of the J-7 is also in the 50,000+ range.

The statement that we dont have a capability at 30,000 feet is entirely wrong. At 30,000 feet, many fighters have their best performance. This is the best altitude for dogfight.

Every fighter in PAF can go and fight at that altitude. But as the other members have stated, its just a matter of will and not the capability.

Even the F-86 can go higher than 30,000 feet. When the F-86 shot down IAF Canberra on 10 April 1959 , I think it was flying close to 50,000 feet.

The spy planes like U-2 used to operate at about 60,000 feet and SR-71 at about 80,000 feet. Mig-25 also operates close to 70,000 feet.

US-led helicopters intrude into Khyber Agency

By Ibrahim Shinwari & Anwarullah Khan

LANDI KOTAL / KHAR, June 15: Two military helicopters of the US-led allied forces intruded into Khyber region on Sunday, triggering panic. Locals said the helicopters intruded deep into the Landi Kotal area, adjacent to the Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, in the afternoon and hovered over the border town for more than 10 minutes.

This was the first intrusion by allied forces’ helicopters into the Khyber Agency.

Allied forces’ spy planes have also increased movement over the tribal region since Tuesday night when a checkpoint of paramilitary forces was hit with guided missiles in the Mohmand region. At least 11 paramilitary soldiers and 10 suspected militants were killed in the attack. Spy planes and fighter jets have also increased movement over the North and South Waziristan tribal regions over the past four days.
Inter-Services Public Relations Director-General Maj-Gen Athar Abbas expressed ignorance about the intrusio

i just donot believe, that strike aircarft were used to target the FC outpost earlier. I think its done by a Predator, whom fly best at 12,000 to 15,000 feet when reconnoitering the target and attacking it as well. This is also suggested by the video footage shown on TV, as taken by the UAV itself. The video clearly suggest that Predator was at low altitude, taking footage at low slant angel.
Now the issue of Helicopters, intuding inside Pakistan. This is alarming. Helicopters are low flying, and cannot be picked up by radars easilly as they can simply mearge with terrain. However, the activities on our westen front, specially last one month, also suggest, that PAF should start putting up face there, in the form of conducting BARCAP missions, as was done during 1980's, to deter Russian-Afghan jets intruding in Pakistan.

The entire loaded weight of the predator is about 1 tonne. It is a 27 foot long drone with the largest possible missile being the hellfire. That has an 18 lb warhead. Look at the pictures and tell me the damage was done with less than 9 KG of explosives? The munition is designed to take out tanks, not reinforced bunkers.

The video clearly shows that it was not a fast moving jet......a fast jet's camera should re-adjust the camera zoom continuously as it goes far away.....but here it seems that the launch aircraft is almost hovering overhead......

The UAV in question may be MQ-9 Reaper (originally Predator B), which is already operational in Afghanistan and carries much more payload than RQ-1/MQ-1 Predator. Other than that, I dont know if AC-130s are operational in Afghanistan. But this strike seems to be by a gunship or Reaper UAV.

The air component of Coalition Forces comprises A-10 War Thogs (USAF) only. (they were there some time back, not sure they are still there or not.
For close air support, ISAF relies on Gunship helicopters.
Helicopters are always audible as well as visible by their characteristics sound and shape. Thats why, yesterday, they were positively identified and reported in newspapers.
The attack on our outpost is still shrouded in mystery, as Rehman Malik has pointed to something attacking from 30,000 feet.
However, for covert strikes, Predator is the most liked weapon of choice by Coalition Commanders.

Where did you saw bunkers? i only see few men on a hill top!
Afghans and NATO does not allow Pakistan to fence the border (for obvious evil reasons) how can they allow Pakistan to build bunkers on a hilltop which they claim as their own?
If it was not Afghani hill top than what the hell Afghan cum indian army and NATO were doing in Pak territory?

In my understanding what ever flying machine was recording did not took the shot. It can be very much a helicopter flying in parallel. It was not only limited to this, infect the men on hill top were busy repulsing an offensive from ground, very much a job of a soldier.
All I could make up from this video was that the men on hill top were punished for being witness and more over challenging to something real hilarious.

According to BBC, i am not sure US used F15E and most probably Predator guide the pilot through datalink for accuracy to reach the precise target. Most of time when plane shoots any precision guided missile, built in plane camera catch the shot for while. In this case it was totally different. A high attitude plane received guidance from slow moving drone.

Agree with you, troops are only for protection for Indian engineers, not for any offensive intent.

What.... you never thanked me for helping you with information.... never mind.
I don't remember that we were discussing any numbers or intents? I just had to prove that indian army is operating in Afgahnistan along side US and NATO.

Now don't expect that with internet search, I can find out for you...count of flights comming in and out of Afghanistan.
Neither can I find out how much drugs are being carried out and how much fire power is being brought in.
But I can tell you above activities are taking place with no break as we speak and as you already see I'm not alone in my imagination, infect many analysts disclose such secrets over media.

As you already see Shrivasta told us indian troops are for ``Taliban & and other anti development forces`` By killing Taliban they are definately helping US and NATO at their own cost but how do you identify a Talib and what in you belief are anti development forces?
As far intents of indian army is concerned, neither can you convince us and neither can you be convinced. Going down this line will be an effort invain ;)

There are major talks on this in the parliament. Expect something major to be acquired soon. :D

.
What are you talking man? from where the hell are you bringing cowardice in it?
It is simply a technical matter. We don’t have enough tools to fight with NATO and this is sensible enough reason.
Let me ask a question to you, what would you do in such scenario, if you were made army chief of Pakistan?
BTW, what incident are you referring to from Musharraf’s era, where Americans attacked fired at Pak army?

Batman.
Iam talking the truth and that is why it hurts. Think about it . You have a clueless Government, A corrupt and inefficient beaurocracy, A weak economy dependant on injection of foreign currency even as we speak now, and an army that has traditionally been under american influence, and you want to take on the Americans. My brother, if you have half as many white hair on your head as I do you will understand that capability or not you will not take them on. Sure you will raise your voice and complain as has happened before, but it will be of no avail as
A) the terrain is inhospitable and the borders poorly demarcated,
B) The Americans want the world to believe that the focus of all trouble lies in FATA. and it suits them to bomb the area to show that they are right.
As to your assertions and reservations about my calling it cowardice, lack of will has factored to such an extent that you claimed the first air attack by a predator on a school where 20 odd young people died as your doing later on it was accepted as a predator strike not only by the army but also bythe Americans. There have also been a couple of other instances where you have lodged a protest . What else have you done? A big fat nothing!!!. Blaming lack of equipment is as lame an excuse as ever. You can call it what you like now.
The fact is my friend that it is weakness and lack of resolve that has led us here and will lead us even further down the same abyss in the days to come.
As to your question, I would send a strong open signal about reviewing our current arrangements vis a visthe facilities extended in protest if these attacks are not stopped. Our Government has been so lame, it has not even bothered to defend the propaganda that the Americans have constantly been blaming us of not doing our job inspite of receiving 10 Billion $ in aid. A strong statement fromn Musharraf should have set the criticism to rest.
