@Rusty's Eloquence with words can divert Any thread .What the foOk ?
How did the Sri Lankan President's visit to an Indian temple become a d*ck measuring contest between Dharmic & Abrahamic Religions ?
I don't know,do you??,Some people say God is a giant sphegatti monster. All we know that he could also be true, unless somebody can prove it wrong, which is very unlikely. And I don't want a unified ideology and I don't want to believe in some silly books.
Sure, you can say what ever you want, but open a new thread and do it, this one is about a Srilankan President visiting an Indian temple.

1. what is the difference between the guidelines and rules?
you seem to think that somehow Hinduism is better because of this distinction, so I would like to know how.
2. The fact that some Muslim don't follow the rules has no bearing on the rules.
3. But previous members said that Hinduisms doesn't have rules, and one guy even said that having rituals is not important in Hinduism.
So either he is lying or you are OR since Hinduism doesn't have a unifying identity you both are telling the truth and in that case the term "Hinduism" has no real meaning.
irrelevant.
The question is not if God exists, the question is "does Hinduism have a unified ideology" and from the answer I have gotten, it clearly does not.
And one of your Hindu buddies started this all by comparing the two kinds of religion. If you don't like it take it up with the Mods.
insecure Indians, that's how
to tell the truth i some how knew this thread will end up like thisWhat the foOk ?

The fact that people do not follow rules in islam makes them baseless as if they were rules people should be forced to follow them...guidelines are self explanatory they guide you to good karma..
Hinduism is a umbrella term used for many ideologies like vedic dharma, vedanta, vaishnavism, shaivism and many others that I can not even mention...but they all are based on foundation of karma and theory of karma does not let you off the hook just because you worship god or you repent..your must suffer for your bad deeds or you can do good deeds to not to suffer...but either way you are not going to eternal hell or heaven because that is just too much.

Why do we need a unified ideology???Its useless.
People don't follow laws in our society as well. People Murder, Rape, Steal and break every single law we have. Now according to you we should just get rid of the laws?
Well, other people think that Hinduism is a religion
And some (RSS, BJP) even think that it is under threat.
so who is right and who is wrong?
is it a religion? is it an umbrella group? or is the term itself irrelevant since it doesn't describe anything we see in the real world?
lets go back to my first analogy.
why does a team need a coach and the players working in unity?
do you think a team that has all the players just doing what they want will be successful?
you need a unified ideology for a few reason.
1. so people know what the heck they actually believe
2. so people can base their morality on something that everyone agrees on, and not just on their desires
3. to have a functioning society where people know where they stand in relations to everything else.
etc etc.
Exactly people do crime and they are punished for it because of the rules...they are not forgiven if they repenting...Rules are rules only when they provide justice...
I have already said that hinduism is umbrella term for different ideologies that have one thing common that they all believe that there are many ways to god/salvation and they believe in karma...these are the very basic tenets of Hinduism and all the dharmic religions theist and atheist...Hinduism is indeed under threat because abrahmic religions are exactly opposite to these two basic tenets of our dharmic faith...
Your analogy is also useless,First you have to prove that we have a coach, which you can't.What you are now doing is to blindly believe there is a coach and to blindly follow the plan which has supposedly came from him, although absolutely no proof to prove any of these. If you can do that, then we can talk about following coach's plan for the game.Of course, then their is also a scope for the debate whether the coach's plan is right or wrong .This unified ideology is nothing but a BS.
no, that is not what you were saying.
You were saying that since people break the rules, why have rules in the first place.
you were implying that somehow (you didn't explain how) having guidelines was better than having rules.
Now please don't change what you were saying to something else after you could not answer my rebuttle.
The problem is not what you have said, the problem is that nearly 800,000 people who call themselves Hindu each have their own definition of Hindu. There is no unifying theology behind Hinduism. So one guy says atheists can be Hindus, while other say they cannot, some guys say eating meat is not allowed, while other sacrifice animals, etc etc.
When someone says they are Muslim you know what they believe, you know they follow the Prophet Mohammad, they Worship 1 God, they follow the Quran, etc etc.
When someone says they are Hindu.....well....you know they are from India and that's about it.
I was hoping you were one of the higher IQ people, but I guess I was wrong.
If you can't figure it out then you should get off the internet because the magic tv might hurt your brain
