Shouldn't have blown up an ex-PM of India and now pass resolutions in the assembly asking for clemency for those convicted of helping that assassination then. Sympathy is a little slow to arrive in such a case.

Live by the gun, die by the gun is the motto followed by Nehru clan - LTTE did not represent Tamil issue until manipulated by Nehru clan by converting a non-violent movement since Ceylon independence into a violent one when they armed a fringe militant group, LTTE not for the cause of SL tamils but for their own regional power projection. Likewise, manipulated the Sikhs as well by foistering Bhindharanwale.

Tamils in TN or SL did not ask for LTTE - it was as per the manipulations of the GOI.

But who cares about the sympathies of non-Tamilians - Eliminating LTTE was a good thing happened as it has awakened the Tamil passion and support for SL tamil issue as we can raise our voice without guilt or fear. And Tamil diaspora is strong as seen by the UN HR resolutions against SL - the chief architect is Navi Pillay who is the UN HR commissioner and a South African Tamil descent. With the support from TN in these days of coalition politics, it will open up the issue big time.

These sort of hatred comments from the fellow Indians against tamil just for a sport/Cricket, created a big spark in Tamil Nadu.. Why we stopped playing cricket with Pakistan?? bcoz they killed many people in Mumbai is your answer... But if the srilankan navy kills 100s of Indian tamil fishermen every year or if they kill thousands of Tamils(may be they are lankan's first, but what's your the response for our emotions?), you cant stop playing cricket and you will say its just a sport.. What you have done to save Indian Tamil fishermen, how many died for the bullets of lankan navy, do anyone know?

india whats 'constitutes' today was ruled by muslims from 963 till 1856, if all of the sudden kerala breaks away or tamil nadu then we can say tamil nadu or kerala was ruled by muslims from this time to that which im not sure, but as you talk about india even if it includes one part of india, it will still be ruling india its like americans ruling afghanistan even though its very clear america doesnt even hold 70% of afghanistan

What are these leaders doing in terms of getting back Katchatheevu while we all know it was granted illegally and so will not hold in SC? What was Karuna and Jaya doing when they knew exactly what was happening in the last stages of SL war?


PS - Providing precedence to one identity of ours over other(Tamilians over Indians) will show only our weakness - We can accomplish more staying within Indian Union than outside of it.

No- it's because the Indian Govt. really wants to keep SL under control. There is a real danger that those jokers will run to the chinese. And SL knows that we need them on this, so they take us for granted at times. But let me also tell you this- it was the Indian govt which put pressure on SL and got equal rights for Tamils in future disposition during the war with LTTE. It has not been an easy thing for Mahinda Rajapakse to keep that promise and there was an attempted coup by the generals (which was averted by Indian help) after the war was done. While we criticize the SL govt. for the mess they have made, do we ever thank them for the enormous political risks that they have taken to try to give a true, respectable solution to the Tamil issue? Why only a chauvanistic attitude man?

What's the use of keeping them under control at the cost of 100s of Indian Tamil Fishermen lives?? Really any country in the world exists except India, inorder to keep a neighbor under control giving lives of their own country men??

angelo mathews cant be considered a tamil for 2 reasons.1.his mother is a sinhalese.2.he cant utter a single word in tamil.
tamils treat well a non tamil who can speak tamil better than a half tamil who cant speak a single tamil word.angelo grew up speaking sinhalese in colombo.he cant be a tamil by any stretch.

Yes - there is a vast difference. The attacks on Bombay happened on Indian soil. It was not an Army or Navy of Pakistan which killed Indian citizens on the maritime border. You think if the Sinhala Sri Lankans terrorists had sneaked into Chennai by boat and held the city hostage would our reaction be any different from that it was toward Pakistan after Bombay?

@Indian Tiger - again why do you care about what non-tamilians think? We rejected Hindi in 1960s and today we do better than the Hindi-speaking states. We stood up for the Cauvery issue and today we are getting majority share of Cauvery waters as per the Tribunal judgement. So mate - we do not care for others - we will accomplish what we want but we can't lose the identity of an Indian. That should be non-negotiable.
