The so called Srilanka offering jobs to Indians is just a propaganda by the current Srilanakan government to cover up their wrong doings and to entice the Indian mass to portray them as land of opportunity where Indian lower end migrant workers can make money the way they are making in Gulf region...

They say Indian labours are moving to Sri Lanka, on contrary in India the labours are paid more compared to Lanka, and Lanka it self is a major source of lower end laborers to Gulf region....

It will be better if some Sri Lankan member post the wage scale of labours in Lanka, and also the current strength of Labour force from India working in Lanka.

Our house maid in Dubai is form Sri Lanka, and we are giving her salary of AED.1,100/- per month (visa exp ours), also hear in Duabi many garment workers are from Sri Lanka and they are paid in the range of AED.800 to AED.1200/-, I don't think they will come to Dubai to work for such low wage if such massive level of opportunity available in Lanka - which is attracting workers from India...!!!

He is talking facts too...How does a daily labor rate is assciated with labor rate? In USA, daily min hourly rate is $6...Does that mean that there is no poor people in USA???...

On to the topic...1st of all why are you allowing Non skill based immigration to happen? This is a risky proposition...Because it is very difficult to control and coordinate the impact of low skilled immigration to your country....If you are really intrested to provide jobs..then provide employment to the poor Tamil people to whom you guys killed in cold blood....

It is in the interest of srilanka to offer visas and they offered nothing more.

Even in backward and rural areas of UP wage rate is more than 100 Rs(around 125 to 159) for unskilled labor and around 175 to 250 Rs. It happened due to NAREGA Scheme. Now we are facing severe shortage of workers when ever there is construction work in my house.

no matter how you calculate it, India's output is less than SL by a significant amount. If Mumbai has a GDP of $140 Billion, means rest of the country will have an even lower output, than the national average.

I imagine there might be problems if TN Tamils come over, they will start problems again by claiming parts of Sri Lanka.
The government should try to get more Biharis and other North Indians to come over. They have no claim to Sri Lanka and will go back home when not needed.
