fit eka = best friend
freda = friend

girlfriend= hutho

I don't know about Tamil but machan is a way to address a friend casually.

machan means cousin not friend.

boyfriend =rajathumo

I have to make little correction, we can't use "hutho" for girl friend. It should be "hutthi". I don't mind if anyone addressing boyfriend as "rajathumo". :lol:

Literally Machan means sister's brother. It became slang word to indirectly refer your friend's sister is beautiful. Now it became so popular that we refer friend as machan only.

We also use "oi" as a slang word.
