What's new

Sri Lanka does a Maldives, raises excise on Indian vehicles by 73%

dude wake up India's trade deficit with China is almost $20 billion !

lol I know right how Indians keep boasting about their trade with China.

India's trade with China has a catch to it. India has a trade deficit with China.

So who is gaining and who is losing. LOL and looks what Sri Lanka has done to Indian car imports now.

Sri Lanka is probably importing more Chinese cars than Indian ones.

Chinese ones are better in quality anyways.

Is it the same reason why you don't see much Chinese cars and bikes in the west?

Don't make a fool of yourself。

This is NO Indian car, though the company that makes the car might be owned by an Indian company。

It is a British car,a car that's made in a rundown area of your former colonial master, and soon to be made in China。

Heard of globalization?

IF TATA making Nano Block 2 and selling under range rover brand, what does that mean? will it British or Indian?

the actual fact is india started to face the similar what actually israel is facing. but only change israel facing based on religion and india facing threat because of china's play. this is the time for GOI to play some big roles to protect ourselves from the sorrounding threats.

Will you leave China out of this?

If you keep fixation on China the way you have been for the last couple of decades, you are bound to end up seeking the help of a sychiatrist。So for the sake of your health, pls refrain from mentioning China at any opportunity。

Phew this may result in a 0,00000001% decrease in India's phenomenal 34,5% year to year increase of automobile sales since 2010. Considering that Japan's Nissan plans on making India it's centrifugal assembly and export zone from Asia to Asia and Africa and certain other parts of the world, Sri Lanka's decision may just have a lower percentage impact on our vehicle sales exports. Just that I can't type a lower percentage decimal at this late hour :D

December 10, 2012

Car Sales in India Fell 8.3% in November. :argh:

Allow japanese and korean cars. Their recondition cars are also world class. Ask for investment in setting up plants and avoid unsafe Indian products.

You like every used thing ???????

According to Siam, Sri Lanka is the largest export market for Indian automobiles. In 2011-12, out of India’s $6 billion worth of auto exports, Sri Lanka accounted for $800 million.
