I want to learn more about this subject regarding Turkey. Why didn't Turkey intervene during that war? Was it lack of Political will?

I want to bring this subject of because Erdogan made the comparison fews days back between Bosnian and Syrian massacre. I have some criticism on this comparison. Although the situation is the same, we can't compare Syrian war with massacre against Bosnians by Serbians. Personally I think Muslim in the balkans are our responsibility to protect them. In the case of Syria it is not. We don't have to intervene in Syria but we should have intervened in Bosnia. There are a lot of countries that can help Syria in the middle-east. I don't know if our army was strong enough to intervene there back then but we definitely could have done something.

Agreed Turkey should have interfered but perhaps it was in your best interests to maintain the status quo and not get involved in something many considered a religious conflict.

Closing your eyes to a conflict doesn't make it disappear. The Serbs made it a religous war out of it, NATO only responded against it.

Do you think it would make a difference if Turkey interfered in Bosnia?

Perhaps it would have prevented a couple of more deaths but things worked out well in hindsight anyway.

Why Montenegro remained in Yugoslavia till the end of the war.

Muslim are beeing slaughtered in syria at a rate pf 150 killed/day by the shia. Turkey has the power and his historic position made turkey legitimate to intervene and stop the genocide

Turkey provided 18 F-16s for the NATO campaign against Serbia during Operation Allied Force in 1999. Of these, 11 TAI-built F-16s were stationed at the NATO base in Aviano, Italy, while the other 7 were based in Ankara, Turkey. All were equipped with laser-guided bombs using the LANTIRN night vision system. Turkish jets had previously patrolled Balkan airspace, providing protection for attacking aircraft. During this allied air campaign, TAI-built F-16s set a world CAP record by patrolling for 9 hours and 22 minutes above the Balkan theatre. Normally, CAP missions last between 3 to 4 hours.
Turkey participated in the UN peacekeeping mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina, employing two squadrons. They returned to Turkey in 2001.
In 2006, 4 Turkish F-16 fighter jets were deployed for NATO's Baltic Air Policing operation and As far as I know 4 Turkish F-16's have already been flying in there...

Who's who is irrelevant. Obviously people are dying and people expect us to put a stop to the conflict.

this is an incredibly stupid post...

status quo my ***..

700,000 innocent muslims were killed. women and children were raped in front of their families and then killed.

nobody in the Muslim world had the guts to do anything. Pathetic to say the least. And it was the United States and NATO that stepped up to the plate and ended this conflict. :usflag:
