Absolutely.

Eerie silence at those levels is discomforting. At minimum, PM should issue a statement that no Muslim have the right to declare another Muslim Kafir in Pakistan, and people should not come out in support of a murderer in streets even if s/he shouts blasphemy because this could be a LIE to settle a personal fued. This is a demonstration of societal decay (Jihalat) instead. Every Muslim loves Prophet (PBUH) in person - this should be default assumption and commonly accepted.

On the other hand, organizations should discourage religious debates in office premises. You never know who will take offense to your statement and decide to shoot. This is the direction in which Pakistan seems to be heading now.

Maybe he is his brother or whatever. Isnt that people like u who leave their home and take oath of their allegiance claim that they r fair and follow the law? Where r those standards now? Laws against the denial of holocaust were voted because many far rightists were using holocaust to racially insult Jewish people. Now those Jewish people never killed someone who denied holocaust. They worked cleverly to get these laws getting voted. Yes it limits freedom of speech. But had you known the concept of freedom of expression in France then you would have understood that it’s a “regulated freedom of speech” and not “freedom of speech”.
But as it is evident, so french people talk about freedom of speech.

Now if Muslims had behaved cleverly we could have got laws about respecting prophets if I could be allowed to be off-topic.

What u call being clever is actually being submissive and meek. Ofcourse people like u are ready for that but others in this country have honor. Its weird how suddenly they become dumb and insensitive when it comes to muslims, but laws are made for jews. Dont call it freedom of speech and expression then, dont call ur actions as defending freedom and values. What kind of values u have that involves offending more than a billion muslims?
Again, the there is no such law to punish anyone for kissing a criminal. There is tons of support for far right violence in Europe, never seen those supporters punished. Instead of concentrating on such moral supporters, the west should stop offending muslims that push them to extremism and violence. People like u want to be harsh to afghans and others but be "clever" with west, who been colonizing countries too. On topic, its good that people attend his funeral , I am pretty sure that Security guard has some personal feud he just use the law to save his skin, I hope he is arrested and prosecuted under the same Blasphemy law, and if it means execution so be it ..

I was reading comments of people on this incident on BBC urdu page

99% comments were against the murderer so this guy isn't going to be a hero that he wanted himself to be
