Russian diplomatic sources said in an interview with the "Riyadh Post" that preparations are underway in Moscow for the reception of the Saudi monarch, which will be in early October.

The visit has been delayed several times for unknown reasons. Although Russian officials have announced on several occasions King Salman's visit to Moscow, the event that Russia has been waiting for months has not yet been achieved, while well-informed sources told the Post that the date of the visit will be next month.

The visit will be the culmination of a new period of Saudi-Russian relations, which have seen improvement and coordination at the political and economic levels.

The last two weeks witnessed coordination, visits and bilateral meetings between the two countries' officials. The most recent was the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Saudi Arabia, where he discussed with his Saudi counterpart Adel Al-Jubeir the coordination of efforts to advance the peace process in Syria. During which he met Saudi King Salman.

Saudi Arabia and Russia share positions and visions to resolve the Syrian crisis by uniting opposition groups to create new areas to ease the escalation.

Saudi-Russian coordination is more visible on the economic level after Saudi Arabia and Russia lead OPEC and non-OPEC nations to sign a historic cut-off agreement in an attempt to end the collapse of oil prices, and several reports suggest the two countries are now considering extending the agreement longer.

Al-Jubeir: Saudi king's visit to Russia will be historic

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubair said Saudi King Salman's visit to Russia would be a historic visit.

Russian news agency RIA Novosti

New phase of relations:

The visit of the Crown Prince in June 2015 to St. Petersburg (Russia) marked a new phase in the history of the relations between the two countries. It came after 4 years of stagnation, a break of contacts in the Saudi-Russian talks following the escalation of the differences in views concerning the Syrian conflict crisis. .

The kingdom's resolve to build 16 nuclear reactors for peaceful purposes, energy and water sources was highlighted, with Russia playing the key role in operating these reactors as the main address for the talks that brought the crown prince to Russian President Putin.

The two countries also signed six strategic agreements, including an agreement on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, the activation of the joint committee for military cooperation and cooperation in space, as well as cooperation agreements in the field of housing, energy and investment opportunities.

They also discussed cooperation in the field of education and the possibility of raising the number of Saudi students to Russia. As well as understanding on the possibility of the Kingdom investing in the agricultural field, and the acquisition of agricultural companies within Russia; in order to ensure food security of Saudi Arabia, and achieve commercial investment returns.

KSA might buy other weapons from Russia, it depends on what it needs for its armed forces.. for example there are not enough MBTs in KSA, since the US has put a limit on their numbers, so going for the T-90MS with ToT is a possibility..
Read also:"The two countries also signed six strategic agreements, including an agreement on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, the activation of the joint committee for military cooperation and cooperation in space, as well as cooperation agreements in the field of housing, energy and investment opportunities."

So the deals might/will include: Nuclear power plants, Military cooperation, space technologies, housing, energy and mainly investment opportunities..

They both have oily hands and Moscow is a gaseous place.

They should have met in Azerbaijan lol
