The coal reserves list here shows Pakistan at 19th position.

The 2% also looks way over the top.

Sunlight is abundant in so many Asian and African countries and all others that are at similar latitudes.

Can you even imagine the land required to produce 100,000 MW solar energy!

UAE to donate 320MW power plant to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Feb 2 (APP): United Arab Emirates (UAE) has offered to donate power plant of 320 MW capacity as a gift to the people of Pakistan to help overcome energy crisis.

Minister for Water and Power, Raja Pervez Ashraf has left for Dubai (UAE) on Monday to sign an MoU with concerned UAE authorities and to work out the detailed plan for implementation of the agreement for the dismantling, packing and shifting of the plant to Pakistan.

The Minister before leaving Dubai in a statement termed it a goodwill gesture on the part of UAE for the people of Pakistan. He said that the people of Pakistan will always remember this precious gift, which they are receiving with love and sincerity from brotherly country of UAE.

He said that the Pak-UAE relations will further boost and both the brotherly countries will help each other in energy sector in the near future.

Pervez Ashraf said that the present government is striving hard to mitigate the menace of load shedding by adding new capacity in generation in the shortest possible time, adding, all out efforts are being made to achieve this target.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nayhan had offered to donate used power plant of 320 MW capacity as a gift free of cost to Pakistan during the last visit of President of Pakistan to UAE.
