In short torpedo still lacks parameters that Navy wanted ...hopefully DRDO can make it world class.

Human desire and expectations has no limit. 40 knots, 50 knots, 60 knots ...... it will keep on increasing, so will the need for range, larger warhead, more powerful explosive, better sensors etc...

Its never ending. But if you look at the picture I have provided earlier, you will notice that this torpedo is indeed "world class" , better than most.

IN ordered 25 LWT, they used it and give feedback to DRDO now they are making ALWT which is an advanced variant.
There is no problem with heavy torpedos IN ordered 75.

hmmm then statement from DM is confusing the hell out of me....if IN got what they initially asked for and now asking for even better product then there was no reason to make a comment like that....
