Not sure who trained them- I think I heard NSG and PARA (SF).

And got it form here (Intel wing)

Anti Naxal ops Over 460 posts for CRPF intelligence wing announced Lastupdate:- Wed, 1 Feb 2012 18:30:00 GMT GreaterKashmir.com

+ This CRPF "commando 469" unit throws me- what are they for? Every tom dick and harry is raising an elite unit these days all titled with the term "COMMANDO"!! FFS!!

 It is the Commando boom time in India..Rush to your nearest centre and join any force and you are assured of earning a Commando tag.

Jokes apart..In the Para,Marcos you have to earn your tag of being a commando. These guys are misusing it.It takes a lot of effort and sacrifice to be a commando.I am soory to say this but even the great Gurkhas of IA which by the way is a Infantry unit can be more than a match for these so called commandos.

Abingdonboy

I am afraid the link you provided talks of 468 posts for intelligence wing and my video talks about 469 posts..so these are the same tom, dick and harry you were talking about.

So these "commandos" are part of an intel wing?

+I think this is why the "true" "Commandos" now are the sole recipients of the "Special forces" tab, not to mention the difference in tactics and fighting capabilities between a commando force and SF force.

Yes,they are part of the Intel Wing.

There is a reason why the IA PARA chaged the Commando batch into the SF batch.Still the word Commando has a meaning which these guys are not even 30% of...Anyways maybe it gives them a pride and keeps them thinking they are good enough to face the naxals in their own backyard.

I think the COBRAs well and truly deserve their "commando" distinction.

+ I wish though that such specilised units of police/CAPFs took the same attitude of letting your actions speak louder than your words that Indian SOFs take.

The Indian SFs are a different breed all together.Had they achieved even 1% of what the Para have achieved you would see them 1000% more in the media giving interviews.

Regarding Cobras..I would say that they are trained by IA personnel in the Training school somewhere in Chattisgarh.I was watching a video regarding this and the training looked similar to what IA troops get before joining RR or in CIJWS..So my question is if they are commandos then why isnt every soldier of IA a commando?

I believe its a psycological thing to boost them up when facing the Naxals.

A friend of mine who went to Corps Battle School in Kashmir told me that these guys were given more than a tough fight(if i use the word he used then i would be upsetting a few people here) by the IA infantrymen ie regular foot soldiers. He even told me that the newer breed didnt even know to run and fire properly.Anyways it is a different thing that our Infantry troops are well trained and are SF killers(if you know what i mean here) ;) ....but these guys need to pull up their socks and i dont want to be too critical also coz they are a very young force..it will take time for them to mature.

^^ like you said- a good, solid starting point to be built on.

The COBRAS have been a great success in fighting these fools:

They have their own sniper-spotter teams hunting these idiots down and gathering info on them.

+CRPF have set up their own intel wing to assist them in the fight.

second picture.. posing or what ??

@ thread nice job CRPF. I am with you.The country is with you.
RIP the dead.

We should also Jaguars and Mig27s against these terrorists

cant do that..that would escalate the matter and draw much more attention, something that the maosists want.

That is what i appreciate. They are a good force with the time they have had.I am 100% sure that sooner they are going to get rid of the naxal problem. They are more than a match for them. But we should aim to make them even better.Provided the right taining and weapons and under the guidance from the Army they can achieve it.

Maoists used villagers as human shield: C’garh CM

At a time when human rights activists and opposition Congress in Chhattisgarh are questioning the CRPF-police version of encounter against the Maoists in which 19 persons were killed and claiming that many of the victims were innocent tribals, Chief Minister Raman Singh on Monday claimed the left wing insurgents used children and women as “shields”.

Putting the blame for the casualties squarely on the rebels, he said if any innocent person was killed or injured, then the Maoists must be held responsible for it as they often use innocent villagers as back-up for themselves during such gunfight and use them as “human shields”.

“If innocents were killed then it is the Naxals who are responsible. Naxals keep innocent villagers as back up for themselves. Congress should not politicise the matter,” he said. While Singh defended the state police and attacked the Maoists, demands for a thorough investigation into the incident grew.

After the CPI, the CPM too demanded a “time-bound judicial inquiry” into what it called “highly condemnable” incidents of “indiscriminate firing and actions” by the CRPF and the Chhattisgarh Police. It said 19 persons, including two schoolchildren, were shot dead or were “brutally axed to death”.

“The truth must be established about the Centre and the state government’s claims of an encounter between armed Maoists and its forces. The terrible plight of villagers, mainly tribals, caught in the violence between the Maoists on the one hand and the state forces on the other has led to a wide questioning of the methods used by the forces in the name of fighting Maoists which ends up targeting the most exploited sections of our society,” the CPM Politburo said
