President Abdel Fatah al Sisi confirmed Egypt's military was working with Israel's to fight the Islamic State in the northern Sinai, on Wednesday during a CBS interview.

"We have a wide range of cooperation with the Israelis," al Sisi said in the interview.

Al Sisi also refuted the idea that there were 6,000 political prisoners being held in Egyptian prisons, an estimate made by the Human Rights Watch, according to the report.
"I don't know where they got that figure. I said there are no political prisoners in Egypt. Whenever there is a minority trying to impose their extremist ideology we have to intervene regardless of their numbers," al Sisi said.

The US State Department said that torture and murder occurs in Egypt's prisons today, as it did before al Sisi's was in power.

The only 'cooperation' is Israel agreeing to let Egypt send additional reinforcements to the Sinai peninsula. Because the peace deal restricts Egypt's military deployments in that region. As far as actual military action against ISIS on the ground, it is all done by the Egyptian military.

Israel propped up ISIS in Sinai to cut off Hamas's arms smuggling route. And they are comfortable with ISIS's presence there.

Told you, ISIS, Israel, regional governments, CIA, Mossad, European intelligence agencies, etc... are all working to try to prevent the Palestinians from arming.

Strike against arms depots to Gaza or smugglers. ISIS members just collected the scraps. There should be zero ISIS presence in Sinai, but Israel, US and Egypt gov't allow them a limited presence as valuable asset against Hamas.

There are clashes everyday in the Sinai. There's no way Egypt can't rein them in. ISIS has reliable suppliers from foreign intelligence agencies and governments. Just right now another attack against the Egyptian army. Sisi and higher ups in the army are lying to their people. ISIS can be tackled in Sinai very rapidly if there was an intention to do so. But, instead it is a big operation against Gaza militant groups.

I was in Sinai during one of its most volatile periods. Lots of Egyptian army outposts were destroyed and they closed down most of the roads. Saw no signs of ISIS presence during the day time. And the terrain gives them a big disadvantage. Yet they are still active because no serious steps are taken against them. They are not extraordinary fighters in any way, they are being allowed a limited presence

Egypt should seal her boarder with Israel in order to combat ISIS. Israel is the origin of ISIS. It is this place from where ISIS zombies get ammunition, food and medical treatment(perhaps training as well). Israelis run ISIS recruitment circles around the globe. Right from Australia to Trinidad, every point where ISIS zombies are being recruited, is managed by Israel. Israel is cooking something big now, that will hit west very very hard soon.
