Thanks, pros and cons. I worked in the UK for a stretch and I prefer working there to here. Though I would say the different cultures bring about the best in people. We just had the Diwali holiday and now its the Malay Hari Raya, interesting & fun celebrations among st the different cultures

Too young too simple sometimes naive. You need to define the term "we" first, whether that means all citizens of SG? Or the ruling class?

For the general public, do they have a final say in foreign relationship? Last time when I checked, SG is a dictatorship ruled largely by a single family, it is NEVER not a democracy.

As of writing, SG is sucking US because of its power, not because of "friendship", that is the exact kind of interest you are talking about. In 10 years time or 20 years time, do you think there is any other "interests" there for SG to maintain the current style "relationship" with mainland China? Keep it in mind: SG is a tiny city slightly larger than a car factory in China, a canal built by Chinese labor & capital in Thailand can kill SG in 10 years.
