KARACHI: The government of Sindh decided Thursday to restrict the renewal of arms licenses.
The decision was taken in a meeting by the Chief Secretary of Sindh, Aijaz Chaudhry.

The Sindh government has instructed to submit illegal weapons by 11th October.

The provincial government has decided to carry out a campaign against illegal weapons after 11th October. Imposing restriction on renewing arms license, the provincial government has provided instructions to submit illegal weapons in police stations.

The government has also approved door to door checking of houses to recover illegal weapons.
Anyone possessing illegal weapons will face 14 years of imprisonment.

The chief secretary has asked for the records of arms, for the past five years and the information of arms shops and dealers from the Deputy Commissioner.

A good step by Sindh government. Civilians should not have weapons.

Yes only the mullas like sipah sahaba/LeT/Taliban should have weapons. Civilians should be left at the mercy of these animals
and their saviours the most corrupt police in the world.

This is a stupid decision.

Who in their right mind commits murder and robbery with a registered weapon anyway? Nothing but Publicity stunt by Sindh government.

First of all, no one will do anything in this government. Second Mullah people are counted in civilians.

The system should be changed and the current government is not going to do anything about it.

Better gun control. modern photo card chipped licenses, better monitoring system for the applicants, character and background check, harsh punishment for illegal activities.

Its part of the clothing for me and many others, guns don't kill people do.

Sindh to ban all arms permits

The Sindh government has decided to cancel all permits and impose ban on openly carrying firearms in the province, a TV channel reported on Wednesday, quoting its sources. The provincial home department has sent a summary to Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah for approval. The summary suggested that all special permits for carrying arms should also be cancelled.

Sindh to ban all arms permits

Wonder if this applies to Zardari and co.

Will this apply to MQM security guards too?
