Sindh can turnaround Pakistan's fortunes, thus solving it's problems in the process

Not Sindh but Balochistan

But yeah Sindh needs a better government especially for Karachi

Pakistani politicians are just rich dudes who don't know shit
Probably you misunderstood. I was referring to ethnic Sindhis. See the list of Sindhi scientists and engineers in OP.

.
A small percentage of total Sindhi population lives in a country of very large population - India. Yet their contribution to economy is immense, in India.

A much larger number of Sindhis live in a much smaller country, Pakistan. So imagine how they can control Pakistan.
I grew up in a Sindhi colony in Hyderabad, India. Small population of Sindhi, from Sindh, Pakistan. Most have become professionals in various fields. Pakistani loss for not investing in their educational curriculam.

Interestingly, most of my Sindhi friends had businessman dads. Perhaps the first generations of migrants who had no option but to start some kind of business of their own.
Same here. Parents are money minded and their kids have moved on to various professional careers.

Sindh can turnaround Pakistan's fortunes, thus solving it's problems in the process.

Whenever there's a thread about Sindh on PDF, the topics mostly discussed are:

* Sindh's part in IVC

* Sindh's political dynasties like Bhutto and Zardari

* The differences between Sindhis and Urdu speakers over Karachi due to rural quota

* Backwardness in interior Sindh

But what is rarely discussed is the great science & technology talent of Sindhis.

If Sindh's science & technology talent is utilized, Sindh can turnaround Pakistan's fortunes, thus solving it's problems in the process. Give opportunities to Sindhis and see what unbelievable things happen in Pakistan. Many economic, technical and governance issues would be resolved. Implementing this elegant idea would have saved so much trouble for Pakistan and prevented so many of Pakistan's defeats. Common lay observers would like to know why the generals (the de facto rulers) of Pakistan didn't do this for 70 years.

Below is the list of some of the great scientists and engineers who came from Sindhi background:

* Lakhumal Hiranand Hiranandani (pioneer of several surgical procedures)

* Vijay Vazirani (computer scientist)

* Umesh Vazirani (computer scientist)

* Rajeev Motwani (computer scientist and inventor)

* Gul Agha (computer scientist)

* Angad Daryani (inventor)

* Sabeer Bhatia (co-founder of world's first email free from ISP and accessible from anywhere in the world)

Could it be that educationist Dr Ajmal Sawand (who hailed from Sindh) was assassinated by someone who didn't want Pakistan to prosper?

Note: This thread is not communal as the above list includes both Hindus and Muslims. I want India to win NOT by suppressing the opponent's potential. The Real satisfaction is in winning DESPITE the opponent realising it's potential. And for Pakistan to __________ it's S&T potential, Sindhis should flourish.

But why doesn't Pakistan's central government intervene? They can launch military coups but don't help the common public of Sindh. Why?

@El Sidd @blain2 @Signalian @Jango

Central government in normal times has it's powers greatly reduced after the 18th amendment. Many topics are with the provincial government, but they provincial government still gets money from the federal govt, and doesn't need to raise as many funds as it should. So it has no incentive for the most part to develop the province as long as votes are still coming in.

The parsi community which flourished in Karachi and had big trading houses all fled to India or overseas after a sindhi named Bhutto nationalised the industries. It was a death blow to the industrial development.

Did you see what happened when Imran Khan tried to use federal development funds to improve interior Sindh?

Zardari tacitly unleashed Sindh separatists protests that burnt and sacked parts of Bahria town as a message to the establishment, "no one, including Imran Khan, is allowed to touch my territory". PPP or Zardari have blackmailed the establishment with separatism.

When Imran Khan was getting ready to declare governor rule over Sindh during the flooding, it was Faiz Hameed who ran to Zardari and got him to negotiate a development package for Karachi.

As for development, under the 18th amendment, which Zardari passed, provinces control their own development spending. If PPP is not developing, educating, or even feeding Sindh, it's 100% their fault.
