Should we privatize our police?

This is a silly thread title, yet ironic.

Dear we are in a state that we are precisely BECAUSE our police is privatized.

It belongs to the political and feudal lords. and thus the state of lawless anarchy that we face.

If police was brought up as a national institution without any outside interference things would have been much much better.

we cant privatize everything, some people are saying that we should privatize PIA, others are saying we should privatize railway, but those two are understandable. But in my opinion we shouldn't even think about privatizing police, all we need to do is just depoliticize our police and we will be fine.

In Karachi police is already privatized. It's called MQM.

It might not be a bad idea since most mercenaries know how to take down targets, both kill and capture, compared to the poorly trained and equipped police, it could be a good idea. But provided they are made police officers and acting in the same legal manner as the police. Giving them police authority without them knowing the law and police protocol would be unconstitutional. They should be made to fill exams on legal and police protocols before being inducted into the police.

Another option would be to re-organize the police force and the rangers. I notice both organizations are doing the same tasks when only one should be doing them. For example police should be removed from doing public security jobs such as guarding banks, residents, airports. Most policemen doing guarding duties look to ill prepared and unfit for that sort of job. Rangers should be deployed for security while police re-organized for scheduled ground assaults/arrests and responding to emergency calls. Currently police are doing to many tasks better suited for rangers only. Even these security public patrols should be assigned to rangers only.

I think a massive re-organization would improve the police's efficiency despite most of them being poorly trained and equipped.

We all know that Police in Pakistan is corrupt. If they were well trained then maybe half of terrorism wouldn't exist. Its sounds a but weird but the highway police that we have, the one that is privatized is quite good.
