Should schools start teaching traditional characters again?

They enrich our vocabulary.
But most importantly, we use meaning translation or pronunciation and meaning combined translation.
In these two word-creating processes, new words will get integrated into Chinese vocabulary. It's totally different from other languages' pure pronunciation translation(transliteration).

Some the "imported" phrases / idioms have a little story to tell
Some of them are quite awkward like deadline = 死线 which is awful！
They are not as directly understood as their Chinese equivalent

笑到最后 - have the last laugh
潘多拉盒子 - pandora box
最后稻草 - the last straw (on camel's back)
死线 - deadline
反托拉斯 - anti trust

死线 isnt even recognized as a word in my input. It is just as easy to write 期限. Haven't heard anyone use that term.

反托拉斯 is harder to write than 反垄断, its useless to write and I haven't ever heard ppl use that term.

Chinese has enough characters to create or translate any new words. Don't worry, it's not an alphabetic language, it's omnipotent.

So do I. I never heard the translation of deadline this way. Pandora box should be translated the way, because Pandora is a name, like we translate Obama, Putin or Modi according to their pronunciation. Anti-trust has old version translation and new version, new one is more correct and easily understood. Combined-harvester is a word created in Chinese and English at almost the same time.

It seems like a pure transliteration.
BUT, 克 has a meaning of resume and recover.
隆 has a meaning of prosperous.
So?
That's one of the best example of translation in Chinese.

If meaning translation is too hard, find characters which sound alike and try to use characters which can have a sort of connection.
三 in 三明治（sandwich has 3 parts, one bread+filling+bread)
反托拉斯 is outdated.
