firstly pakistan need to draw a line to separate Army role and politicians role and that's why there is no accountability in the ruling elites, in a correctly functioning democracy nobody should have asked for the army's chief resignation, its the political decision to respond to such situation and to prepare the border to avert such situation, army cant work in isolation without any order from their political rulers, army should be a follower in political matter not the decision maker, decision should always come from top political echelons, but its pakistan no accountability no responsibility nothing...currently army chief is saving his face and shooting from politicians shoulders when things will be in his favor he will come again to forefront and will show his bravado...so its upto to you pakistani people who should decide what should be the next course of action in the coming poll..army should not interfere in daily politics of a country.. see egypt for e.g. they are not settling anything less then a democracy (no ARMY, govt should be run by people not colonels).

Dear Guys.Decesion is not made by a single COAS. Anything important is discussed in core commander meeting and with mutual understanding decesion is made after viewing concerns and with agreement of majority of members.

many people making naive and harsh comments against army and its leadership and exploiting the NATO attack to demand that army leadership be removed or they are traitors. Heres the bigger picture. CIA, India and US govt wanted to remove General Kayani and General Pasha. That is why the whole Memo scandal came to light. US even had plans to assassinate both these officers and for that a list was also prepared. Now when the entire treason of Haqqni network and CIA was exposed and the army leadership was taking actions against him and government, CIA came to the rescue of this government and attacked the post killing our officers and men. Now the entire media has forgotten the memo and treason of Hussain Haqqani and the pressure from the govt is released. Now the media and the nation is after the army leadership calling them incompetent, traitors and demanding that they should be removed! Now do you see the game? The US wanted to remove General Kayani and General Pasha -- either through resignation or assassination and now the naive and stupid in the nation are also demanding the same in their anger and rage!!

For the army, this is a very difficult situation. Indians want Pakistan to go to war with US and NATO. Army cannot go to war on western front while there is a treacherous government in Islamabad and a hostile media attacking the army.

U know what we are doing here is to show our patriotism with the country and the nation....We don't nned anybodys resignations right now but we need Mr. Kiani and the traitor Govt. to be come out clean with US/NATO game and at least shoot down one of their aircraft..but I guess it won't work we need at least to shoot A Nuke on Israel now cuz that is the root of all the US/NATO and our problems.....just finish that evil in the bud right now....if they can't Nuke Israel or India then they shold step aside and we shold put some new anti-Israel or anti-US/NATO guy to lead us...period....We need to use our nukes its better to kill all our enemies before they kill each of us.....At least get guidance from Holy Quran right now and finish this evil Israel trying to be oversmart @$$.....

He should have resigned after the OBL issue---he should have taken immediate retirement---. But now that he is still a c-in-c and the Haqqani termination is still very fresh----this whole issue reeks of high deception.

Why did the u s strike the pak contingent----to take the attention of the public away from the memo gate issue as ALI points out----looking at the time frame and immediate proximity---seems very likely that the millitary might be up to something and this action was taken to stop what they wanted to do.

But then this is the right time as well---people's support is with the millitary---if they have to do anything---do it now---.
