Should Pakistan Start R&D for Space Mission

Really? I guess you just want to start a healthy discussion here.
Btw, What does islam says on extraterrestrial beings.
Let's not bring Islam into discussion; our inability to understand things may sometime dilute the real perception from teachings of Islam. Islam mentions Angles and Jinns. Former is essentially the extraterrestrial (just analogy based on current understanding and knowledge), and later can be terrestrial or extra-terrestrial. But like I said before there, anyone who don't believe in Islam, wouldn't agree with this either. So, let's not discuss this.

I heard that Pakistan will launch its first military satellite This year ...any updates

That's my suspicion also, but you know the classified information is hard to come by. Hope some senior member can shed some light. However, it is going to happen sooner or later.

zameen ka pata nahi and space the final frontier lolz

No we have priorities let's meet them first.

It was sad to see India launch a $5 million dollar 'Mars Mission' to boost national pride when there are people starving to death in India.

Right now; we should work on removing our poverty, increasing infrastructure and working our way up to the status of a developed country before we try to go for 'Mars Missions'.

That's an extremely myopic view!
India wants to expand its technological base be it in terms of defence, medicine, or even space. No knowledge is wasted. India is investing in education and training of its scientists for what may very well be the future.
Besides, India comes out net positive as it is commercializing the concept of satellite launches. In layman's terms, it is serving as a Satellite Taxi. And it is doing so at a fraction of the cost!
By this logic, you must think that the likes of SpaceX etc are stupid to invest in such far fetched endeavours when their money is better spent on other issues, is it?

Do you think that poverty allevation happens in a vaccum? It is a simultaneous process and it cannot be done at the cost of other important achievements and goals. India has not pursued its space program at the cost of its poverty alleviation program.
I'm sorry but you need to rethink your views on this. @countryman is right when he says that one cannot fall behind in this sector. Space is the next frontier and you would not want Pakistan to be on the sidelines when other countries are making ventures into this next step for mankind.

China mein sy hath nikaal lena chahiye....we should do some thing ourselves, something that we can righteously call our own.

Satellites launched by ISRO have saved Thousands of Indians lives

one such example is this

http://www.indiatimes.com/news/two-...cyclone-vardah-unleashed-its-fury-267456.html

Insat3DR and ScatSat-1 are two satellites which helped predict the cyclone's movement. The satellites not only alerted people and authorities, but also helped authorities prepare for impending calamity in advance with accurate predictions, which resulted in the saving of thousands of lives.

If you look at the short time frame then yes it does set India back by few millions, but if you see the long term effects then these endeavours will only benefit India as it increases high tech industries and jobs, and also will bring in wealth as the entire country benefits.
It is also good for national image and prestige.

Please, never mind heading and pic, this was just to start conversation. Congratulations to our arch-enemy for landmark achievement!

Don't we think Pakistan should start venture with China for some future space Mission?
why the hell spend on something that is useless and throw money..iwant to see subcontinent progress and india investing in mars to show the wrld their capaboilities will leave its people remain poor and hungry hoimeless...pak must at least unlti 2035 not do these stupid paisa phenk kaam

There are races which you decide to compete in and there are races which you decide not to compete in, albeit for the time being.

Space exploration / missions is one such race which Pakistan has (apparently) decided not to compete in at least for the intermediate future, and for good reasons.

Rocket science (which is a primary branch of aerospace engineering) is one area where we decided to get involved and did so very successfully.

On a lighter yet saner note, we (or those enlightened enough on PDF) KNOW for a fact that extraterrestrial beings do exist and some of us have also had close encounter(s) with them.
r u being serious with this comment here? Except for the ones who "have had close encounters with ETs", how do others know it for a FACT? Even those ppl that claim to have encounters with aliens must prove it otherwise it's just a claim.

At the moment mathematically speaking there is a good chance that life elsewhere in the universe exists but it is not a FACT until proven.

Also I'm interested in knowing these stories of the close encounters and the PDF members who had them. I easily get intrigued about pretty much anything.

Although I'm a big advocate of advanced sciences and technologies in Pakistsn, however in this case the answer is a resounding NO. We have far too many pressing problems to solve here on Earth than thinking about space travel. Let's get them under control before we start pervading our problems to the entire universe. For now, earth is a big enough domain for us.
