Should Pakistan become a Presidential System ? And give up the Prime Minister System

The one thing apparent from recent election and Win by PTI is even , after the win it was difficult to change Sindh as it is still ruled by Ethnic Politicians. Government was forced to allocate almost 10 Billion Dollars to Sindh Government (regional government) even knowing they do not have ability to develop Karachi

Thus it makes more sense to adopt a more Presidential System similar to US where the winner takes full control of Federal and Provincial matters and he "Chooses" his favorites for the role

How the winner President Chooses his team ?

a) Freedom to Choose one of his political affiliates for role for Ministry​

b) Ability to hire a PHD or expert from Pakistani Origin for Technical Purpose no prior political experience required​

c) Freedom to distribute budget to his team members at will​

d) No interference from Regional Provincial politics​

e) Any citizen of Pakistan can be assigned in leadership role in different provinces​

Any law can be good or bad. UK has parliamentary system and is best. USA has presidential system, it is better for them.
Turkey under Erdogan, went through parliamentary to presidential system is doing fine.
Russia failed in communism and China prospered.
Even if you implement Sharia in Pakistan, it will fail. Like the deet law was exploited for the medical girl.
Pakistanis institution are corrupt. If we had Kabba management under our control we will do corruption there. In fact, we had a Hajj scandal.

I feel from beating corruption stand point , a Presidential System is ideal

No more , seat sale or buying , because , now power lives with 1 President of State and secondary power with Vice President

The fact a Prime Minister can't directly control government of a Province i.e Development of Karachi for example shows how the Prime Minister system is not ideal for Pakistan

The advantage of Presidential System is you win , you won , right to do what you want for 5 years
He can literally select 5 PHDs as Head of Ministry because of their Credentials and Education

• The loosing Party has no role in manipulation or causing disturbances they become POWERLESS for 5 years only influencing may be constitutional changes if they have enough seats

Provided Budget is created fairly for Provinces , certain % distribution the presidential system is ideal way forward

That’s not the issue with the office of PM but it’s an issue of the botched devotion of power that was done through 18th Amendment.

Places like the UK devolved power down to the council level, but they made sure to add constitutional checks so that if the devolved government fails the control reverts to the central government, pakistan didn’t do this.

Lastly the statement you made above just shows the level of understanding you have when it comes to this issue.

Nope, just look Indonesia. Stable and doesnt like Israel/Malaysia/British who uses parliamentary system where deadlock happen to often. Parliamentary also can give option for President to take the power without election like happening in Indonesia in 1959 and Today in Tunisia.

Just dont use 2 party system like in US, Presidential system with multiple parties are perfect

I think the problem is "Ethnic Satisfaction" , the solution is what works best for Pakistan
Presidential System , the best person gets in power and he sets up his team best Pakistani Citizens for Job

The Ethnicity is not important , as long as the best people are selected for Job


Sindh having a Sindhi Family Ruling party (Provincial Level) for example has not meant Sindh or Karachi transformed into Texas or Miami on the contrary , annually we are loosing 10 billion dollars in Sindh due to mismanagement, between 2007-2018 , PPP ruled in Sindh for 10 years ? Every year 8 to 10 billion dollars coming in from budget but they have not done much?


Example : If you are making a Bridge, and it has to be world class , and you have 2 choices pick a Engineer/Architect Pakistani Citizen who has experience of 20 years internationally and locally , and 2nd person is Engineer who has may be only designed tiny huts but ethnically he is from same province. Who would be the ideal fit for Job??? Of course on a merit system you would pick the guy with 20 years experience Internationally and Locally. More experience. This is exactly what Presidential system allows President to do , Pick the ideal people for each key post



In the current system , Political Parties have "Flags" inside the state of Pakistan ? This is very anti Pakistan at it's core to be flying political flags instead of National Flags which I find "very odd".

Secondary with Ethnic provincial politics it limits growth as best people can't easily get to jobs in different provinces

The two parties in the US are result of the presidential system, where one always has to vote for the lesser evil leading to third parties not being able to get a seat, the first past the pole system in parliamentary democracies isn’t better.

Pakistan needs to explore systems like preferential voting but then again our population is too illiterate to vote based on their interests.

If we had devolved power in our provinces properly, Mayors of Major cities like Lahore and Karachi would be national figures as they are in Europe and other mega cities.

We definitely need a presidential system tweaked according to Pakistani realities. Definitely direct elections for all positions. The Parliament should have only one lower house. No senate, unless the need for it can be justified. There should be strict term limits of one five year term and you are done for life, no exceptions. A close relative can not succeed the same position vacated by their relative for at least 5 years.
Lastly, going on a tangent, the country must be divided into much smaller administrative units, whatever you might want to call them. Greater say for the people of smaller ethnic groups, to alleviate their alienation, so they feel like being the part of the system.
