Sheikh Mujib - the greatest leader in South Asia

You say that about the father of our country, he didn't instigated the serious of events and simply won the election.....

Imran khan must be a dog to you by your logic as well.
Father of your nation was killed by your own countrymen as well as Indira Gandhi.

So.... are you going to use the same vile and disgusting language against Bangladeshis, the people who killed him, as you do against Pakistanis? Or is your racism only for us?

So it's agreed, imran khan, is sc** of Pakistani leadership and the whole country hates him. As someone tried to kill him.

This is some mensa level pay grade stuff.

I suggest for you to include some fish in your diet, omega 3 is very good for the brain activity and brain development.

Imran Khan is not the father of Pakistan and nor is his dead. You should defend your nation's founder better.

Our founder Jinnah passed away from illness, not killed by our own nationals.

Yes Mujib indeed won the elections and should have been given the govt, but let's disagree about how much his party is to be blamed for the instigation. I bet you also believe his 3 million figure.

What we all can agree is that Pakistan military played a devastating role at that time. We can also agree that Indian military took advantage of everything at that time.

I am dismayed that our nation’s founding father is being co-opted by Hinduvta. Making movies and creating idols etc

But I am pleased that Pakistanis are also co-opting him. Imran Khan aspires to be the Mujib of west Pakistan. I hope the great man succeeds.

Whereas Gandhi, Nehru, Patel and Jinnah remain divisive figures.

ONLY SHEIKH MUJIB UNITES THE FACTIONS IN SOUTH ASIA

They did not kill any Biharis.

The guys you mention created Pakistan. Which, I admit, is a bigger endeavour than creating Bangladesh.

You say only BAL see Mujib as the founding father of Bangladesh.

So why do so many Pakistanis blame Mujib for creating Bangladesh?

BNP ofcourse claim that honour for Major Zia. But no one in Pakistan knows who he is.

And Imran Khan certainly doesn’t want to be the next Major Zia!

Then there is the international community - who universally see Mujib as the founding father.

Your comment is unhinged, pathetic, sour and Trumpian.

Oh! Final nail in your pathetic coffin!

BBC’s well respected poll shows Mujib as the greatest Bengali. Looks like BAL is very big 🤣

@UKBengali
@EasyNow

Sher-e-bangla gave unified muslims of Bengal and gave form to muslim sovereignty here and ensured by whatever happened BD would emerge post British Raj.

BD needs to define its heros and that is not dependent on anyone else.

BD intelligentsia does not see Mujib as the father of the nation and it never will. Only those who draw BD history from 1971 does. Our country is much older than that. Mujib has a high place in the historical continum and all dues to him but BDs history is a living entity, BAL can not co-opt that however much it tries.

.
1971 was essentially a civil war between Biharis and Hindus.

Biharis were the stooge of the pak junta. And Hindus were foolish RAW servants.

They slaughtered each other.

Bengali Muslims were united and suffered minimally. No more than 30k deaths.

I shed no tears for either side.

Bengali Muslims got their own country.

That is a terrible post and is indicative of your bigoted mindset.

Both hindus of BD and biharies in BD at the time were full citizens of the country then and are full citizens of the country now.

BD does not mean muslim bengalies only. BD definition embraces all her people including Hindus, biharies and others who moved here during partition and the burmese and tripurian and assamese tribes who has settled within BD border pre partition.

Every death in 1971 was a tragedy.

lol how was Mujib a great leader? He is only revered in Bangladesh and among Bangladeshis.

That is enough, who cares about anyone else. To his people he is a great leader and his position is settled in the body politic of the nation he assisted in becoming sovereign.

.
Mujib was a great leader.

I'm happy Pakistanis are now revisiting the events of 1971.

.
Sure, that’s probably about right. But Mujib was directly responsible for slaughter of the biharis. It was his mukti bahani that had blood on their hands.

Then he put all of the Biharis in camps. Kept them there like prisoners. Bhutto, the scum he was, refused to take them too.

You may not shed a tear. Good for you. If all you care about is bengalis, then that makes sense I suppose. I don’t find anything about Mujib or his daughter worthy. I do hope that your country does succeed.

In defense of BD, all biharies have right to claim BD citizenship. Most have taken up the offer... only a few stay in the camps rejecting the offer in the hope of going to PK.

This situation will end within a generation.

This is a relatively recent development. For most of Bangladesh’s history, this was not an option offered to them.

My point stands- Pakistanis are very open in admitting the role of the Pakistani army and local militia in killing- but Bangladeshis of both stripes seem to conveniently ignore the blood on their hands.

Pakistan should really take the Biharis. I wish we get the taufeeq of a leader who does this.

Most educated BD are also very open minded. Biharies has been offered citizenship from the 80's onward.

No, atrocities happened particularly towards the end of the war. BDs do not deny this nor glorify it.

There are many opinions, this little forum is not really indicative of broad based consensus that exists in BD.

For most PK was a good thing and we see ourselves as the forefront of that movement. We also recognise the subsequent disenfranchisement and marginalisation of E.PK leading to BD as the natural course of event.

BD does not see 1971 as the beginning of our history. Post partition PK is as much our history as yours, it diverged in 1971.

But when all said BDs do not really hold any enmity towards PK despite our turbulent history and hopes for greater people to people connection and alignment where our respective interest aligns.

The anti PK political rhetoric is for internal consumption only.

Unlike you guys, anyone born in Pakistani soil automatically gets Pakistani citizenship. Including the bengalis and Afghans.

Heck a lot of them go around with NICOP cards, even though they haven’t been born here neither. Whatever trauma Bengalis face, is first generation only in terms of nationality.

We don’t gaslight other people by pretending to offer Biharis citizenship all the while keeping them in camps for multiple generations (oh they are there by choice now, are they?)

I do have to agree with you here. Our destinies were intertwined until they weren’t. What happened could have been done better. West Pakistanis are to blame for what happened in the east. No doubt.

I do get triggered a bit when I meet BDs in the US who conveniently ignore what happened to the Biharis and try to push the ridiculous propaganda of 3 million deaths.

But overall, I think most BDs I have met have been very decent moderate and kind people. I wish your country nothing but the best. My wishing aside, it’s pretty clear west was holding you guys down
