Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:

The Prophet said, "Who is ready to kill Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf who has really hurt Allah and His Apostle?" Muhammad bin Maslama said, "O Allah's Apostle! Do you like me to kill him?" He replied in the affirmative. So, Muhammad bin Maslama went to him (i.e. Ka'b) and said, "This person (i.e. the Prophet) has put us to task and asked us for charity." Ka'b replied, "By Allah, you will get tired of him." Muhammad said to him, "We have followed him, so we dislike to leave him till we see the end of his affair." Muhammad bin Maslama went on talking to him in this way till he got the chance to kill him.

One cannot simply hurt Allah. Some of this is just shocking.

Hadith is word of man, Quran word of God and divinely inspired.

And also only Quran that is protected by God. If there is hadith that is against Quran, we must be very critical on it. Particularly over important issue like killing another person that in Quran is stated as something that is very sinful if it is not base on haq (justice).

If I want to seek interpretation from my heart (after seeing both Quran and Hadith), I believe 2 years in prison is enough for blasphemy. Although I see from Quran that there is some kind of a free speech but to restore order in a Muslim state 2 years prison for blasphemy I still think as some thing that has base. I found killing people over mocking Islam is not really right. I believe the person who mock Islam will get punishment directly from God

We should not make Islam a religion of fear, we should make people think Islam is tolerant so that more people will feel sympathy to Islam and eventually embrace Islam.

An Nahl verse 125

Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.

Quran verse that show some kind of free speech among human and words should be respond by words as well.

Actually, I am more worried with Muslim living in other country. As some one living in US, just think if this law will be also applicable in their land. Do you want your son to be hanged because he said Christianity is laughable since that religion think that God need to be killed by their enemy, Roman, in order to clear human sin, and he said thing like that to his friend to convince him that Islam is the right religion and some how his friend recorded it and bring it to the court.

And How about Muslim in Kenya, Ethiopia ???

We cannot change our faith based on political reality. It must be based on fiqh.

This verse is some how very applicable in internet media where we see some one mocking Islam so we can respond back by another statement that attacking their religion/believe, not killing him.

It also shows that without sanction of a genuine Islamic state, such an action cannot be carried out.

There is no room for vigilantism in Islam.

Hence why fatwa of Ayatollah Khomeini was necessary to deal with that Indian Salman Rushdi.

In literal sense ofcourse not, but here in figurative sense. Allah swt was angered when transgression were committed by past nations, look what became of them.

That surah Al Lahab is specific for Abu Lahab and he has made many bad things to prophet Muhammad and even If I am not mistaken some thing like pouring bloods when prophet Muhammad is praying.

If that Surah is for other Kafir who rejected prophet Muhammad then why Umar bin Khatab is spared and even blessed by Allah SWT and become one of the first Caliph after Abu Bakr.

That was the first open preaching of prophet peace be upon him and it was directed to his family and now Muslim govt was made on that time, aren't you forgetting what Hazarat Umar bin khitab said after accepting Islam, O prophet of Allah pbuh pray and preach openly in bait Allah , I swear to God my sword will cut all those who even dare to taunt you stop you and insult you , the Sharia laws are always implemented when there is Islamic govt and power, don't you know what happened to blasbphemrs during the initial Islamic state of madeena , now imagine what would have Hazarat Umar R A done to Abu lahab had he been standing with prophet when that surrah was revealed and what would have happened to Abu lahab had he have done this in a Islamic state similar would have happened to other blasbphemrs ,
